Our second visit here - the first being 4 years ago. Its a fabulous site - providing you get the type of pitch you prefer! We were pleased with our grass pitch in Highfields but would not like the option of the open hardstandings down near the play area as its more like a car park. The best showers in the Club - lovely and hot and kept decent by the wardens. Our week was almost ruined by a motorhome far too big for the area (notice stated "small vans only in this area") pitching way off the white peg and a couple of feet from our awning and in breach of every club pitching rule. This was its third pitch on the site in 2 days. Our complaint to the warden fell on deaf ears. It subsequently transpired that these people were fellow wardens on their week off from another site we won't mention! They made everyone aware that they were wardens and didn't hesitate to make us aware of their presence with shouting, loud music etc. What an example for the Club. We refused to let them spoil our holiday however and found plenty to do in the area. We have certainly learned after over 10 years membership that the white peg ruling does not apply to club wardens, or any other ruling for that matter.

The wardens pitched next to you have been in touch as they were concerned about your comments and wanted to address the issues you raised. They would like to reassure you the area that they pitched in was recommended by the wardens of the site and was not too big for their motorhome. They moved pitches as their previous location was needed by a disabled member and they were happy to relocate in order to accommodate the needs of the new arrival. The distances on their new pitch were correct and this is something the wardens are very aware and conscious of and as employees of The Club they abide by Club Site rules at all times. We are sorry if you were disturbed by loud music and shouting. This did not come from the warden’s motorhome as unfortunately there were no celebrations due to a bereavement of a close family member. If you have any concerns when staying on site please speak to the wardens on duty, who will always do their utmost to assist.
