Favourite Site in the North of England

We come to Troutbeck as often as we can and over the last 20 years have visited on countless occasions. We love the location. The view of Blencathra is just amazing. It's an ever changing picture and if you have any physical limitations, you don't need to go anywhere to see the North Lakes landscape in all its glory. For the physically able, the local walks and cycling are fabulous and there are plenty of local eateries and with both Penrith and Keswick under 10 miles away in either direction, there's no shortage of places to go. Hadrian's Wall is only an hour away, Brougham Castle is worth a visit too. St Bees, Emmerdale, and so many other lovely places are easy to drive to. The site itself is always kept tidy and the facilities spotless. The wardens we've met over the years have always been welcoming and friendly. On our last visit, our friends found themselves somewhat stranded as the husband (who else?) broke his wrist. There was no issue for them to extend their stay whilst a tow home was organised, in fact nothing was too much trouble and they were able to enjoy holiday as best they could I tell everyone how fantastic this site is and would recommend you to try it at least once to see whether you like it as much as we do. Can't wait to return!
