Good campsite but spoiled by carpark pitches

This campsite is in a great location and only 10 minute walk from Warwick Town centre and the castle. However, our weekend away was spoilt by 2 things. 1. VERY loud event at the race course that went on way past closing hours. We understand this is out of the sites control however we wish we would have been informed by the site who knew of the event as this was like being at a pop concert, all day!! 2. Our pitch location seemed to be in a carpark. We booked without awning as we were only there 2 nights. There are some secluded beautiful pitches on grass and in the trees but there seemed to be about 10 of us in a tarmac carpark, right next to the racecourse public footpath. There was no privacy and it felt insecure as anyone could come in from the public footpath and could see in your vehicle. It didnt feel like you could relax. Would be so easy to install a barrier and make people feel safer but this tarmac area really is awful. We would return to the site as the location and town are great and facilities clean but our advice is book an awning pitch, even if you don't need it so you get the nice secluded pitches and not the carpark!

Actually, I like the tarmac pitches right on the racecourse rails and never noticed any lack of privacy.

Whenever booking a racecourse site it pays to check the racecourse's own website both for race meeting and other events.

The site is owned by the raceracecourse and run on their behalf by the caravan club, and it is the racecourse who make the majority of the decisions

I think the tarmac area is used when there is not any racedays

Warwick District Council own and lease all the land not the Jockey Club. The area is officially Warwick Common.
