Coloured pegs ,

Great site, getting a bit tied, but been going for years, great for walkers too, would recommend the waterfront for great meals, book early tho, one thing that puzzles me is ,parking in between the pegs you have 2 pegs that you park with your van reverse or drive between the 2 ,simple really but on the last visit 3 vans on the front beach side ,just don't know how to park ,the posts are brightly colourd, they are not there for decoration ,but for a fire risk prevention ,if one can catches alight the distance is a good pretection of other vans catching alight, so come on members park right ,cos wardens will move you weather you are set up or not, rant over, happy holls to all.inky.

What a location if you like being near the sea!

We were lucky enough to get a front row pitch overlooking the beach. Just the perfect spot for me, an unspoilt and wild beach (it was November after all) and rough seas to look out on and when the rain ceased beautiful walks on the beach for the dog and ourselves. Pakefield is a short drive away where you can park for free and walk along a fantastic prom with a sandy beach with plenty of places to stop for a cuppa. Our welcome was very warm from the wardens and the facilites were as you'd hope for a club site. We've been in the summer and stayed on the other side of the site and this was our first time on the beach side. Both sides have their advantages but I just loved the view of the sea this time (no awnings on the beach side).

Great stay as always

Once again, the site Head Wardens Helen and Neil went out of their way to ensure that we had a really enjoyable few weeks on site. As always, they were exceptionally friendly and full of relevant helpful information. It’s just like meeting up with old friend with these two. We are totally gutted that they will not be on site next year and their replacements will certainly have big shoes to fill. The site was as always very well maintained, as were the pitches, with the facilities kept clean and tidy at all times. We wish Helen and Neil well for next year and hope they return in the future.

Facilities need upgrading

We've been coming here for a couple of times a year for 16 years. Usually April and September. Although very clean, the beach side toilet block floods inside and the showers although hot, don't have much water pressure. Lovely wardens always. It's the club putting prices up, yet not upgrading, which has made us go to a non club site in Southwold next time. Sad, as I love coming for a retreat by the sea but fancied seeing what we can get for our money elsewhere next time.

Lucky with the weather but not the tv.

We were lucky to pick a few sunny October days but too late to get a sea-front pitch. Wardens were pleasant as always. Didn't use the facilities so can't comment on those. TV reception was abysmal and the booster system was broken down. Long dark October evenings really do call for a functioning tv reception - the wardens said they were "priority" for repair but it didn't happen - occasionally reception improved but was completely unreliable. Hope they get it sorted soon.

Lovely relaxing stay

On such a beautiful site overlooking the sea, it would be difficult to not have a relaxing break! Walking with the dogs along the shore and sitting at the nearby cafe for coffee was all we wanted to do! A really great place that we'll definitely go back to!

Impressed

Very well maintained site with excellent facilities and very friendly and helpful wardens. Quiet and laid back ambience with no on-site club or leisure activities, which suits us perfectly but may not suit families with young children. Really good location for walking the beach and sea wall, and for exercising our extremely energetic Border Collie puppy. Good "local" pub, dog friendly both inside and outside, with very decent, unpretentious pub-style food, friendly staff and good beer. Will definitely return soon.

We love it here

Stayed here several times. It has everything we need... Quiet location right next to the beach for beautiful walks and is very uncommercial and a nature lovers Paradise. Also impressed with the clubs move towards Bio diversity. The site has friendly lovely wardens too and nothing is too much trouble. We will be back again soon.!

Great view, just needs TLC

Great position. Friendly wardens. Had a standard pitch with sea view. Grass between pitches needs sorting as worn. Great view that would be even better with a repainted fence. Toilet block dated. All that said if this site was more local for me I’d go back. Just needs the club to spend some money on it to bring it up to date

Corker of a site

Just had 4 nights here, smashing plot right on the beach. Lovely site run by equally lovely people. Nice pub and restaurant up the road with local takeaways delivering to the site - lovely jubbly. Some great birdwatching a short walk away and an unspoilt, quiet beach to stroll along. Doesn’t get much better.
