Great location

Having never stayed along this coast before I was really looking to what I had been told was a peaceful area - and so it was. The site is very close to the beach which was totally uncomercialised. Back to good old traditional holidays! My only real criticism were the showers or, more especially, the absence of hooks in the showers. ONly two hooks (in the gents') for clothes and a towel is not on. There wasn't even a seat on which a toel could be placed. Bit of an update needed!

Two sites in one

The site is divided by a road (quite only saw a few cars on it ) We were hoping to get a sea view all gone we got there at 2.00pm clean well looked after Only down side is pub Music loud on event days . Spoke to wardens the pub gives them dates of events .

Oh the noise of the music!

The site was kept in excellent condition and the facilities were spotless. Its' position on the coast was superb. The wardens could not have been more helpful but oh dear the noise of the live music from the adjacent pub blaring on the Sunday afternoon when we arrived was far from peaceful but we were assured by the wardens that it would definitely stop at 10pm, which it did. They could not tell us however how many times a week we would be able to "enjoy" it but thankfully for us that was the only occasion. If only the site was situated near Southwold I would have scored it as excellent.

Good site, BUT

A very good site close to the beach, which unfortunately had quite a lot of rubbish at the high tide mark and also abandoned jagged, rusting ironwork sticking up out of the sand. However, we had an enjoyable stay marred by an incident which was potentially very serious as the dog belonging to the next pitch to ours bit my husband as he walked past to the electric hookup point. In spite of wearing jeans, the dogs teeth drew blood and left a distinct pattern on his leg. It was reported to the warden and the owners were asked to leave. It was disappointing that my husband wasn't later asked about the injury by the staff but we thought this could have been Caravan Club policy, i.e. don't get involved.

Marvellous

We stayed for a weekend and loved this site. It is clean and beautifully maintained. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. It was very peaceful and despite the torrential downpours, we managed to cycle into Lowestoft and then went for a walk on the beach at Kessingland. Local Pub was a bit downmarket.Would certainly come back to this site again.

WONDERFUL SITE

Stayed here for 4 nights. The people who run the site were very helpful and friendly. The site is nicely set out, neat and tidy and very clean. All of the Facilities were ample and excellent. Although the weather was atrocious the site itself was enough to make us stay on. We had our Grandson with us and the great thing for him were the other children who he befriended. Great site. Will definitely return.

DISAPPOINTED

Stayed for two nights. Arrived at 12 hoping for a seafront pitch but they were all taken. Can't understand why the second toilet block has been closed. A word of warning to Motorhomers don't venture to Winterton on sea. There is a brochure in the information room describing the awesome , sandy, dog friendly beach so off we went. The drive was short and easy with no really narrow lanes and at the end a huge, and when we went, empty car park which doesn't allow Motorhomes or Campers!! MAD as there is nowhere else to park. We would have happily paid the £5 for the day and patronised the Cafe as I am sure would many others so their loss.

First Stop on the Tour

We found this site to be in a very good location. Its very well maintained and the Beach be it 99% gravel is great. Dogs are allowed all year round from the site entrance road to the right as you look at the sea. (We find it difficult to good advice on dog access - Caravan Club could improve on this advice!). Showers and Toilet block is very clean. Easy to get to Lowestoft and Gt Yarmouth. Would recommend a stay!
