Bank Holiday Visit

Long weekend stay over the Bank Holiday was our first trip out this year. This is a nice well kept site in a good location. Lots of places to visit in Suffolk and Norfolk. We pitched on the grass inside the entrance, plenty of room and did not feel crowded even though the site was fairly full over the weekend. Visited Dunwich NT and Minsmere Nature Reserve. Also found a nice place called Ranworth Broad and Malthouse Broad with a RSPB visitor centre. The Sailors Rest has good food at a reasonable price (and some live music on the night we arrived) and the Carvery at the Livingstone's Pub by the Africa Wild entrance on Sunday was good. Overall a nice site with plenty nearby to visit. Will be visiting again.

NEW SITE TO KICK START SEASON

We have always wanted to visit this area, in particular Southwold and were far from disappointed. Site is well situated to visit places. The local buses are frequent, and go to Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth, Southwold amongst others.  The site is split, beach side and main site.  Can walk through the beach side to get to promenade and beach.  The road between both sites is ok, not that busy but we did notice more traffic one evening, and whilst out exploring we discovered why - a large holiday park at the end of the cul-de-sac.   No noise and far enough away.  Facilities were great, showers best we have used on site, washing up facilities is a room and it's warm, compared to some sites where you feel you are open to the elements.  Dog walk is very small, however, it is adequate for first thing in the morning and last thing at night constitutions.  You cannot complain when you have a prom and beach yards away.    We were pitched just down from the main toilet block, by a fence.  When the weather was slightly warmer, we noticed a smell behind the fence, there are drainage ditches there but the smell was more sewage like, and whilst out walking one day we discovered directly behind the site is a large sewage works and smaller one even closer. In hot weather no doubt it would be even more unpleasant.  Wardens very nice.  Fish and chip van on site on Friday evening.  Nothing much to do near the site, but that is great as not touristy so nice to have evening walks.  Great tea room along the main road in.  Very popular.  A visit to Southwold is a must.  It is very popular, so arriving early and parking up along the front for free is best idea.  Lovely pier to walk along, and dogs allowed on.  Lovely walks along to the main town.   This part of England gets very windy, but you can live with that when the area is so nice.  Great site, wonderful area - we will definitely be returning.  Very popular site for dogs, and so clean you wouldn't know so many dogs were there.  Our dog loved it.

Top Banana

First time to white house beach for long weekend. Pitched near to entrance, the ammenities are kept spotless and more than adequate. The two large dogs enjoyed the walks along the beach 50 metres away. The weather was warm and sunny until today (sunday) even had bar b que yesterday. Off out for lunch at the local pub dog friendly 100 yards away. checked internet for things to do (plenty) good wifi connection. But it is sunday traditional dinner and pint was the vote !! (me and two dogs out voted the boss) Very friendly wardens always helpful. Even when I rang the out of hours bell for assistance to turn shower off!! I was turning it the wrong way. simples really!

Very helpful wardens

This site has great facilities and is in easy reach of supermarkets and Lowestoft. However, the outstanding plus of the site is the wardens. They are so helpful that I cannot praise them too highly. We had to call on their expertise twice on this holiday, once to sort out problems with our television reception and then, more seriously, when our charger burnt out. The problem was diagnosed quickly and we were referred to an engineer who came on site to sort out the trouble. All this was done with the attitude that nothing was too much trouble. We were able to complete our stay, which looked very much in doubt at one time. Thank you particularly to Bernie and Sandra.

The Perfect Break

This was our first visit to White House Beach and we had the perfect sea view pitch. The facilities were immaculate in terms of cleanliness with the showers being powerful and hot.  We would certainly consider returning in the future.
