As expected the site is of usual high standards, with very friendly staff who gave us a cheery welcome, which is always nice. Nice level pitch on hard standing was a bonus. Sadly the cycling was not as expected and I would say dangerous if you cycle to Woolacombe. It’s on a very busy road and on a very steep hill, about 4.5 miles to the beach. Our electric bikes struggled. The cycle to Ilfracombe is better and very pretty along the old railway track which is tarmac, and as it’s off road quite safe, but again steep. We have found this to be a problem with how the club promotes sites with regard to cycle routes.
