Just 10 minutes off junction 1 of the M40, this was the perfect base for us to have a long weekend exploring London. We arrived about 2pm on Friday, booked in and were allocated a pitch - fine for us as it takes away all the driving around searching for the perfect pitch..! We had pre-registered on the MeterMac website and put £10 on to see how we got on. Once there we told MeterMac which pitch we were on and away it went - it's currently charging 26p per kWh, which is as good as we get at home. By the time we left on Monday, we had used just £3.36 of electric. Admittedly, it was a warm weekend and we didn't need to use the heating. We were also conscious of switching things off - no bad thing..! The balance refund was simple to arrange and should be back with us in 3-5 days. The site is next to a small airfield and there is some noise from helicopters and light planes which take off and land most of the day. As we were using the site as a base for days out, it really didn't bother us. Denham railway station is just 1.5miles away and costs £4.50 to leave the car there all day. The car park is quite big and was practically empty when we were there. This might be different if there is a big match or concert on at Wembley. The train journey to London Marylebone took just 20 minutes. Overall we had a really excellent long weekend - we went into London on both the Saturday and Sunday. This site enabled us to stay for 3 nights at a drastically cheaper rate than staying in a hotel in London and we had the added benefit of sleeping in our own bed... We would highly recommend this site as a base for London and we will be back again as there is so much more we can do.
