A large, upmarket, very efficiently run site in a pleasant resport, with exclllent facilities and easy access to the beach.

Benicassim is a smart Spanish resort, and Bonterra Park is conveniently located a couple of roads back from the beaches, a short trip into town, with a good supermarket opposite the main entrance, and a Lidl nearby. It is a large site, well laid out, with a wide range of facilities, and everything immaculately clean. The restaurant is good, and the pool area attractive, but may get very crowded in high season. The pitches are varying size, some with shade, some more open, and those around the good toilet and shower blocks can be quite close together - we preferred a larger pitch at the top end of the site, with a less crowded (and more peaceful) feel. Whilst we were staying here in mid September, my wife was immobile with a broken foot. The extremely efficient and friendly staff could not have been more supportive, helpful and sympathetic, providing not just good advice but also lending us an essential wheelchair. I am glad we visited this excellent site in mid September, after the peak season: it was still very busy, and I suspect August would have been a bit too overcrowded for our taste. We were unlucky with WiFi during out stay - a major area fault knocked it out for several days, but this was not the fault of the site. We would love to return when we can enjoy off site activities and attractions without the mobility issues we had - but we did find some excellent restaurants, even if needing taxis. Incidentally, having had to attend both a local health centre in Benicassim and the general hospital in Castellion, we have nothing but praise for the professional, efficient, quick and friendly Spanish state medical services.

Excellent Family Site

This is a great site and I can see why people return every year. The site is very clean with staff working hard to keep the toilet/shower blocks clean. The reception staff are very friendly and great at providing local information, for example parking in Valencia. Whilst very busy in July and August, the site is very quiet after midnight and the security staff patrol on bicycles. The pitches are good, although I recommend a Gold Pitch if you have a large caravan/motorhome. It is cheaper to purchase Wifi for a`month rather than pay the weekly prices. The service is excellent and we were able to stream from the Sky Go app. Fridges are also available to hire. The beach is a short walk away and a number of great restaurants and bars are situated near the beach or in the town. The waterpark is well worth a visit if you have children, we had great fun and returned several times as it was fairly cheap to book tickets through reception. A Burger King is close by if you require a quick snack. In terms of directions to the site as you approach from Valencia, ignore the first sign for Benicassim and ensure you pass the water park on the right. Then take the next right sign posted Benicassim and go through the town centre. I intend to return again next year.

Excellent stay

Stayed here for 5 nights as we toured along the Med coast of Spain and this was one of the best sites compared to others further south we stayed at. Pitches are of good size, they are gravel and ours had drainage and water as well as electricity. Shadier pitches are in the middle of the site but we stayed on the right hand side as we preferred the openness more. Lots of pitches were hanging up shades so that is something to consider if you plan to go. The shower and toilet blocks were spotless and the reception staff helpful and friendly. The swimming pools were pleasant and was lifeguarded. It got very busy and there are rules such as no inflatables, balls, drinks or food. The bar/restaurant was also excellent, we had a lovely paella which we could not finish and they packaged it up to takeaway. The local gin was fab! In terms of locations there is a big supermarket directly opposite the campsite entrance and Lidl just up the road which is also open on Sundays. The town is about a 10min walk as is the very long sandy beach. The nicest thing we found is that directly behind the campsite is the Via Verde which is a cycle route to Opressa de Mar which you can easily access and there are places for you to leave the route and find quieter smaller coves which we thoroughly enjoyed! We will definitely return!

Good site in nice town.

Why: The area looked interesting and friends of ours had also decided to stay there. The site reviews were also positive. Location: A 10 minute walk from the centre of town. Benicassim is a small Spanish town which happens to cater for tourists. It is not overtly commercialised so you will not find the usual tourist shops selling ceramics and olive wood or boat trips or time share sharks. What you will find is a proper Spanish town with a range of normal shops, restaurants and supermarkets. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. The sandy beach is excellent and you can walk along the promenade without being hassled. Check in – The office was staffed by three ladies all of whom spoke excellent English. Sadly, the site was full. Yes, full in mid September. An awful lot of British, and Dutch stay for the Winter. We were told that they might have space the following day and that we should return tomorrow. We decided to return about 9pm and were told that they would have some vacant pitches the following morning so we paid a deposit and returned as agreed. Pitches - Not overly generous. We selected one that was just big enough for our 7.5m van, awning and car. The surface is grey gravel and they are separated by hedges. The gold pitches have power, water and drainage and are available for the ACSI rate. They were operating a 7 night for the price of 6 deal – which was good. If you plan to visit during the second half of September beware. The annual St Thomas fiesta runs for 9 days. On the plus side you can join in various activities including Bull Running, fishing and dancing. There are lots of live musicians performing in various locations on different days. The atmosphere in town was great. On the downside the fiesta site is a 5-minute walk away which is handy but they have an open-air disco on at least 5 nights. This sometimes starts at midnight and runs till 5am. So, get yourself some ear plugs or party with the locals. If you are in town on the last night be sure to watch the street fireworks followed by a spectacular display on the beach. Facilities • There were three shower blocks, one of which has been updated with new floor and wall tiles and fascia boards. The other two are showing their age but are kept clean. • Swimming pools looked inviting with sunbeds around them. • Bar and restaurant. This was popular for drinks and evening meals. Standard menu which includes pizzas, pasta, grilled pork with chips and steak. • There is not a shop onsite but there is a mid-sized Mercado opposite the entrance. It stocked a good range of groceries and meat. There is also a Lidl a short walk away. • Beach – is a 10-minute walk past a couple of restaurants and a small supermarket. The beach is sandy and the sea very shallow. You have to walk a good way out before you can swim.

Great site

As others have said everything is at hand.... friendly helpful staff, good restaurant, the town and a supermarket, the beach and the via verde which is great for cycling and walking. Only downside is that the closest beaches are blue flag and therefore dogs are not welcome, but there are beaches dogs can use a bit further away. We had no difficulty using the local vet for the dreaded worming before the return to the UK

Busy, we'll run site.

Visited January 2017. Friendly welcome from site staff. This busy site is very efficiently run. There are a lot of visitors who have been visiting for many years and know each other well but we were amazed by how friendly and welcoming people were. There is a lot going on for those who wish to take part. The walks along the Via Verde into town or to the beach are great if you have a dog. The supermarket opposite is definitely a plus. If you like a busy, urban site definitely a good place to be.

Fabulous site

Stayed here for a month in October and it was wonderful. Although the  toilets and showers were clean they were starting to show their age a bit and the same goes for the pool and pool changing room. Plenty to do on site and a nice walk into the town where there are enough eating and coffee shops to satisfy most people's requirements. There is a cycle way outside the rear gate which is just enough of a heart strain without being too tough! I will definitely be back to this site next year if there is room.

Good site in a pleasant location

A good site with an excellent restaurant. Staff very helpful and spoke good English. We were offered 2 plots - one was far too small and the other had 2 trees on the plot so we could not use the awning which was a shame. I would say movers are strongly advised on larger caravans over 7 metres as the access is very tight in places. Benicassim is a lovely place with a nice promenade and plentiful bicycle routes. Very pleased with this site overall. We were here during the fiesta and so suffered from a lack of sleep some nights until the music ceased around 4 am.

Great for people of a certain age

Pleasant, helpful staff on reception who all spoke good English. Pitches covered in gravel, so not the usual dust problem you get on the Med. Some pitches are too shaded for some, so avoid if you want the sun. Sanitation facilities very good and conveniently placed. We were there during a ten day fiesta - late September - and you could clearly hear the music and fireworks from town until five in the morning. A lot of elderly long-stay people when we were there, but they knew how to party. We fell in love with the town, and certainly intend to go back next year.
