We have just returned from our visit to Holland. This was the second time we have stayed at Arendshorst. The site and facilities are clean and well maintained as is all of Holland. The site is run by the owner Michael who makes everyone feel at home. It was Kings Day whilst we were there so a lot was going on. We visited the nearby town of Elburg which was holding it's annual Tug Boat Show. The town was very busy with the harbour full of Vintage Tugs. It was also market day but there was no problem parking as a field on the outskirts of the town was opened for free parking well worth a visit. We also visited Fortress Bourange which is about an hours drive away. This was well worth a visit, it was also very busy but again no problem parking in a large free car park. The town of Ommen is about a 10 minute drive away. It has 2 supermarkets and lots of good bars and restaurants. Whilst we were there we saw a Carnival with marching bands, a parade of 80 + Vintage Tractors and Horse Drawn Carriages. Everyone was dressed in Dutch period costumes. Arendshorst is an ideal site to base yourself for visiting North Holland.
