May trip as a base
This is a good site, just outside the town of Falkenburg, practically on the Dutch-Belgian-German border. It’s a large site, primarily grass pitches but some hard. Pitch blocks are separated by good hedging. Site power is 12 amps. The toilet blocks are good but you’ll need a travel plug for any of the sinks.
Facilities are great. They have a small shop with basic goods plus orders for fresh bread etc. (delivered the next morning). The bar has a good inside and a terrace and serves a range of drinks and snacks. The food stall was not open yet when we visited. The pool was good and swimmable if you like your lengths - about 15m long, next to a children’s paddling pool.
It’s about a 15 min walk to Valkenburg station for trains into Maastricht, was was lovely. Valkenburg itself is a beautiful, cosy, small town, with some nice squares for sitting in a cafe and watching the world go by. The castle was well worth a visit.
