Excellent stopover

I stayed here in early October for 2 nights on my way back to Santander from the south of Spain. It was being well used by tourers, but most of the permanent sites were not being used, so maybe for this reason it was very quiet and peaceful......no children.I found the site excellent. I had my pick at 17.30 when I arrived about where to pitch. It is true the pitch I chose had a very hardstanding gravel and stone base and was it very hard to hammer pegs in, but this was not a problem for two nights and it had the advantage that had it rained there would have been no mud. Other pitches were more grassy. As others have said the facilities were excellent, although the restaurant/ bar was only open at weekends and the pool was shut at this point in the season. You can walk to the local bodegas and sample quantities of wines and walk back. The local town is charming with lots of small shops and a market, however most of the local bars and cafes only seem to serve food at lunchtime/ afternoon, so in my search to find somewhere to eat on my first night was disappointed.
