Stunning location in the Gorges

We arrived for our week long stay in early June and were welcomed with a request to select a pitch from two different types once we had walked the site and, the one chosen was at best "sparsely grassed" but was large at approximately 180 sq mts and shaded by trees (many were poorly grassed) and several pitches were already out of action due to re-seeding (really - in early June??) - surely this could have been achieved before the site was ready to open? Our thoughts on the facilities was that they were adequate and maintained in a very clean state throughout. Our first weekend coincided with a bank holiday and so the site was around half full but this dropped off to no more than around 30% full for the rest of our stay. There was a water & grey water disposal point between ourselves and the pitch alongside and the swimming pools complex was very impressive as were provisions for childrens' play. The surrounding gorges of the Tarn; the Dourbie and the Jonte were incredible for their ruggedness and pure beauty and for anyone who wished to be challenged by outdoor activities, this region would be considered to be a mecca for them! In addition, the engineering feat that is the motorway viaduct across the Tarn is a must for a visit to the visitor centre! Again being a Yello Village there was the need for wristbands to be worn by those staying on site - which I am afraid does not sit easily with retired folk, as we certainly never wish to be treated like children!! That said the site has a great deal going for it being in the perfect situation for weather and activities and we could probably visit again in the future.
