Peaceful Site

A wonderful site for a peace and quiet holiday. It is situated in a most peaceful part of France with easy access to splendid countryside. We have been coming here for over 15 years and so have many other regular customers on the site. The owners Sue, George, Dot and Bob are most friendly and welcoming. They keep their site immaculate, especially the pool and bar/restaurant area. Having a splendid home- made meal on the bar terrace overlooking the trout lake is idyllic. The pitches are large, many with hedges, and the toilet block, although elderly, is kept scrupulously clean. Weekly barbeques and quiz nights add to the enjoyment. A site to be recommended.

A peaceful week without the need to cook

This is the most relaxing of atmospheres you could possibly hope for. The trees and mill stream, along with pitches that give you all the room and privacy you could wish for, combine to make this a great site to simply unwind.  The restaurant provides an amazing value menu, all served by the lovely hosts and their friendly team, so we rarely bothered to break out the BBQ during our stay this year. If truth be told, the showers are not the best we have encountered and the pool has quite a big first step down for those with limited mobility, but these small niggles are soon forgotten when measured up against the marvelous atmosphere created by Sue, George, Dot and Bob.

Very welcoming

We had booked this site on recommendation of friends. Agree with others site is very welcoming. We were unfortunate to have 4 nights of terrible thunderstorms, which our dog hated! Nevertheless we tried the planned walks - instructions perhaps need updating as we managed to get lost. (This could be our fault!) Had 4 meals in the restaurant - all excellent value. Would stay again.

Home from Home

My wife and I booked 11 nights in late May. The Site is scrupulously clean and perfectly maintained. Good sized pitches and choice of where to park, at the time we were there. The Proprietors are helpful, although Sue more so than George, who seemed more taciturn. Judging by the conversations around the Site, many of the Visitors were regulars and almost all were British. At 59 years young we were about the "least senior" there, it seemed. The Washrooms were clean and well-maintained, if a little dated and the Reception/Bar/Restaurant also felt a little "Tired" - maybe some sort of separation of the Bar/Restaurant from the Reception might help lose the feeling of a 1950's Village Hall! As it was still early in the season, we didn't get to try the Pool, which looked lovely. A Bonus for me was the Trout lake which helps give the place its beautiful setting. If you want peace and quiet, this is THE place but we struggled to find much to do in the locale except for walking with most places of interest a car drive away. To sum up, lovely setting, helpful English owners, beautifully maintained and superbly clean but in a slightly boring part of the country!

A very nice site

We were here a couple of weeks ago at the very start of the season. Unfortunately, the pool and restaurant were not open. The pool was not a problem, but it would have been nice to have a night off from the camp kitchen. The bar was open in the early evening, and the atmosphere of the site was very pleasant.  Our pitch was good next to the mill stream. Lots of bird life including an Osprey. A site where you are either coming for complete relaxation, or be prepared to travel to visit places. We would definitely stay again.
