Home from Home

My wife and I booked 11 nights in late May. The Site is scrupulously clean and perfectly maintained. Good sized pitches and choice of where to park, at the time we were there. The Proprietors are helpful, although Sue more so than George, who seemed more taciturn. Judging by the conversations around the Site, many of the Visitors were regulars and almost all were British. At 59 years young we were about the "least senior" there, it seemed. The Washrooms were clean and well-maintained, if a little dated and the Reception/Bar/Restaurant also felt a little "Tired" - maybe some sort of separation of the Bar/Restaurant from the Reception might help lose the feeling of a 1950's Village Hall! As it was still early in the season, we didn't get to try the Pool, which looked lovely. A Bonus for me was the Trout lake which helps give the place its beautiful setting. If you want peace and quiet, this is THE place but we struggled to find much to do in the locale except for walking with most places of interest a car drive away. To sum up, lovely setting, helpful English owners, beautifully maintained and superbly clean but in a slightly boring part of the country!
