Fabulous camp site in April

Stopped here for a couple of nights with a caravan. Friendly greeting with large pitches. Approaching the site from the west the road was quite bumpy and narrow. Services were really clean and modern. Facilities were excellent especially for families. We stayed Thursday night which was peaceful and quiet but it filled up a little on the Friday night. Obviously a popular site with the Spanish. We were lucky with the weather which was sunny and dry so we visited the national park in the mountains. Scenery was stunning and was well worth it although be warned some roads are not accessible with a motor home. The local town is pretty and well stocked with restaurants, bars, supermarkets and fuel stations.

Fine site with stunning views of Pena Montanesa itself. Local town of Ainsa's medieval village was worth a visit.

In late september we had a huge range of pitches to choose from. On site supermarket had fresh bread and croissants in the morning. Staff and services were fine. We ate once on site which was OK. The icing on the cake was lunch (we tend to have our main meal of the day mid afternoon) in the on site hotel. My word. We sat on the terrace outside the bar, where there were stunning views. The food from the menĂş del dĂa was super. OK it was 20 Euros but this included 3 courses, wine and water. Overall that lunch just made our stay.

Stunning location, extensive facilities and nearby Ainsa is a delight.

We stayed here at the very end of September for 3 nights. The setting of the site is magnificent, overlooked by glorious mountain scenery. The drive to the site from Huesca was a pleasure in its own right. The area where we were located consisted of spacious pitches, with high hedges providing privacy. Our pitch had 10A EHU, but I had to argue to get this rather than 6A. There are no serviced pitches, with taps fairly close and a motorhome service point behind reception. The area where most caravans and motorhome were situated was quiet day and night (notwithstanding a little bit of noise from the stone/concrete works 1/4 mile away on weekdays). The camping area under trees nearer the toilet/shower block was more lively and noisy but sufficiently far away from our pitch as to be no problem. The sanitation facilities were extensive and spotless, if needing refurbishing. The washing machine and dryer were not very effective. Disappointingly the restaurant only served paella or pizzas (possibly a low season issue), and they were overpriced if nicely cooked. The swimming pools and sports facilities were excellent. Apart from one briefly surly receptionist the day we arrived, all staff were friendly, helpful and very good humoured. The shop was well stocked. WiFi was only available around the bar. However, there was an overall feeling that refurbishment and upgrading was needed across the site. Nevertheless, the jewel in the crown is the delightful old town of Ainsa just under 1 1/2 miles away, with a glorious medieval plaza and good bars and restaurants, and fantastic views from the castle walls.

Best Spanish campsite we’ve stayed in!!!

Having just read the last review I can’t help but think they have the wrong place! It was our second trip back here. Planned on staying one night but ended up staying three as we couldn’t tear ourselves away. During check in they gave us a free voucher towards food in the restaurant and we were guided to an area of the campsite and left to choose our pitch. Lovely large hedged in pitch with hookup. It’s was peaceful and quite during the day and the pool areas both inside and out were well cared for and clean. The facilities were cleaned regularly and were of good standard. We love the walk (40mins) into the old historical town of Ainsa with its wonderful shops and restaurants. On check out we were even given a free bottle of local red wine!!!

Dissappointed caravaners

We were very disappointed with this site. It was our first caravan holiday in Spain so we booked a caravan site through the caravan club. we booked and paid for six nights but left after one. Our concerns included: 1. This site was very crowded, we were initially put in a very overcrowded area but we asked to move to a quieter area. The quieter areas had very little shade. 2. The site felt uncared for, with we felt a pack them in without thought for people's comfort. 3. The noise level was were very loud in the day, with some loud noise continuing into early morning, barking dogs, people talking loudly. 4. The cleanliness was poor particularly around the café and pool area, where there was a very strong smell of dog faeces and urine. Philippa and Rob

Beautiful location

This is our third visit to this site and I again I was 'wowed' by the scenery. The location is amazing and we traveled to France through the tunnel under the Pyrenees mountains. Spectacular. We arrived at the back end of August and this was the quietest that we had ever known the site to be, however, we arrived on a Thursday and they have a live band. We wandered down and had a couple of drinks whilst we listened to the music - restaurant is right next to the pool, which was lit up for the evening - people were having meals from the restaurant and the atmosphere was fabulous! This site has a very authentic feel to it - if (like us) you go to Spain to experience Spanish culture, then this is the place for you. Ainsa is a must - the old part of town is so beautiful and - once again, we had a meal at Dos Rios in the new part of town - with food on the menu like Carpaccio of Trout from the River Cinca - served with it's own roe... spectacular for 16 Euros for a 3 course meal with wine. I can strongly recommend this site and the location.

Lovely location

Lovely location in some great countryside, nothing wrong with the site other than the grass pitches were suffering from all the rain and were very muddy. I was nearly bogged down when it came time to leave, lots of wheel spinning! Ainsa is a beautiful spot and the surrounding countryside is worth exploring. I didn't eat in the restaurant - only used the bar! A site I would return to..

Mountain views

Arrived to a horrendous thunderstorm so count choose our own pitch .As this is a 6 amp site the electric kept tripping .Toilets were okay but as we were only there when it was raining they were continually draped in bikers apparel and mud was everywhere. The pools are lovely and clean and the indoor is heated. Lots of walks around the campsite and although the weather kept us from biking it was still possible to visit nearby villages and the local town of Ainsa and is walkable .A word of warning before going either on a hike or bike ride check the weather forecast at reception as the weather can turn quickly . Small camp shop, bar and restaurant all clean tidy and friendly and informative staff.

Lovely site in the Pyrenees

We stayed for two nights in early January. Fantastic views of the mountains nice size pitches with privacy hedging. Nice during the day but temperatures plummeted to -9 degrees overnight the motorhome heaters struggled to cope with the temperature. On the second day we were the only van on the site. Only downside the mains electric kept tripping even with just an electric kettle. Apart from that would use as a stopover again. Owners very friendly and helpful.
