When the caravan is left unhitched, it must be immobilised or protected against theft by the use of at least One Security Device.
Failure to comply with this security requirement means you will not be covered for claims following the theft or attempted theft of your caravan.
You need at least one security device to be able to continue.
Please select which security device(s) are used on your caravan*:
This type of alarm has a sensor on the corner steadies (legs) which detects when they are being raised.
This type of alarm detects external movement of the outfit e.g. being hitched up, raised by a tow truck or lifted using a jack.
A heavy duty chain can be used with an anchor point and lock to prevent the caravan being removed. These can be useful in storage but other devices would need to be in operation while touring.
A lock to the caravan hitch which prevents the hitch handle being lifted and a tow ball being inserted or removed, therefore preventing the caravan from being hitched up or unhitched.
A mechanical security product which acts to physically attach the caravan to a location such as a ground anchor. These can be useful in storage but other devices would need to be in operation while touring.
A wheel clamp is a device which fits around the wheel to prevent the caravan being towed away.
A wheel lock is a device which fits through the wheel to prevent wheel rotation and the caravan being towed away.
