AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group invited the Caravan and Motorhome Club to formally open its new customer and training centre in Southam, Warwickshire on Tuesday 10 June 2025.

AL-KO, manufacturers of trailer components that meet the highest standards of vehicle technology, have been at the heart of the caravan industry since the 70s and the motorhome sector since the 80s. AL-KO are responsible for developing and popularising many of the technical features we take for granted in today’s leisure vehicles. AL-KO and the Caravan and Motorhome Club have a shared goal and vision to see leisure vehicles become safer, more reliable, more durable and easier to use.
Harvey Alexander, the Club’s director of marketing and membership services and Selwyn Cooper Chair of the Club’s Technical Committee, were honoured to be asked by AL-KO to formally open their new facility.

Harvey Alexander, director of marketing and membership services at the Caravan and Motorhome Club said, “We’re privileged that AL-KO Vehicle Technology Group kindly hosted the Club’s Technical Committee at their new facility in Warwickshire and extended us the honour of formally opening their new customer and training centre. We’ve had the opportunity to view the new facilities and meet and share views with AL-KO staff at a time when the industry faces not only significant challenges but also tremendous opportunities for innovation as motor vehicles move towards a zero emission future. It was our absolute pleasure to formally open the new state-of-the-art AL-KO facility and we hope it will be a beacon of best practice for years to come.”

Trailers can be upgraded with AL-KO accessory components for the widest range of applications. AL-KO offers superb chassis technology, drawbars, overrun devices, axles for braked and unbraked trailers and more. All AL-KO trailer parts are characterised by exceptional durability, perfect handling and the maximum ease of maintenance.

Alexander continues, “We’re delighted to see the development of this new Customer and Training Centre in the UK, the ninth such facility across Europe, and a sign of AL-KO’s commitment to the UK market. There has always been a good rapport between AL-KO and the Club - whether it’s been helping with training of our Technical Advice team, sitting together on industry working groups, providing support to keep the caravans rolling during our intense Caravan and Motorhome Club Towcar of the Year testing or being receptive to investigating concerns our members have sometimes had with equipment they own. Working together, across the boundaries of industry and users, has always been mutually beneficial and ultimately, beneficial to consumers and Club members.”

Caravan and Motorhome Club members and leisure vehicle owners will benefit from this new facility in many ways including having a wide range of AL-KO products installed and repaired by an organisation that is most familiar with them and also by having the reassurance that the certified product and service training provided to service technicians across the UK from this facility will help to further raise the standards of work carried out elsewhere. Many of those technicians will work at Approved Workshops, the Club-supported network of independently-assessed fixed and mobile workshops across the UK.
