Caravan and Motorhome Club Retains Green Tourism Gold Status Across UK Network

14/09/2026

The Caravan and Motorhome Club has strengthened its position as a leader in sustainable tourism after retaining Green Tourism Gold accreditation for its Head Office and all UK Club campsites, apart from Bridport Bingham Grange Club Campsite, which is awaiting assessment following its redevelopment and reopening. The Club’s Head Office also achieved its highest-ever Green Tourism assessment score of 88%

Green Tourism helps to embed responsible, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices across businesses and the wider tourism sector. Green Tourism assesses businesses on their efforts across three core pillars: People, Places, and Planet. The prestigious Gold Award recognises the highest levels of environmental management, social responsibility and sustainable economic impact.

Natasha Shane, Head of Strategic Product Development and Sustainability at the Caravan and Motorhome Club, said: "We’re incredibly proud to have retained Green Tourism Gold accreditation across all Club Campsites assessed this year, as well as our Head Office. This achievement reflects the commitment of colleagues across the organisation to improving our environmental performance and embedding sustainability into everything we do.

"As we help members get more from the great outdoors, we remain focused on protecting the places they love to visit for generations to come."

During 2026, 73 Club Campsites, representing half of the Club's site network, completed Green Tourism assessments and all retained their Gold accreditation. Following its redevelopment and reopening, Bunree Club Campsite completed its first Green Tourism assessment, achieving a Gold award.

Shane added: "This year's assessments highlighted the progress being made across our network, with five Club Campsites achieving a score of 87%, the highest ever attained by a Club campsite since we began working with Green Tourism. We will continue working closely with Green Tourism to further strengthen our environmental, social and economic performance and build on this success in the years ahead."

The Club's sustainability strategy includes formal partnerships with accredited bodies, baseline tracking of environmental impact, and promoting responsible behaviours among staff, members, guests and suppliers. Through its vision of 'helping you get more from the great outdoors', the Club is working hard to ensure it's a sustainable organisation for current and future members.
