Caravan and Motorhome Club unveils its second ‘Walking Wanderers – Walk of the Month’ at Lady Margaret’s Park Club Campsite in Chirk, North Wales
26/01/2026
The Caravan and Motorhome Club is delighted to continue its Walking Wanderers – Walk of the Month series with a new route that champions the simple joy of getting out into the great outdoors. This month, the spotlight turns to the breathtaking Lady Margaret’s Park Club Campsite in Wrexham, North Wales. Situated within the historic grounds of Chirk Castle, the walk offers an irresistible blend of heritage‑rich pathways, sweeping natural scenery and gentle adventure — perfectly embodying the spirit of the Walking Wanderers campaign.
The initiative continues to champion the mental and physical benefits of getting outdoors – encouraging members to stretch their legs and uncover inspiring routes across the UK.
This month’s walk: A scenic 10km through history and Welsh charm
Starting from Lady Margaret’s Park Club Campsite, this gentle 10km circular walk weaves through the stunning grounds of Chirk Castle before following part of the iconic Offa’s Dyke Path. Along the way, walkers can expect:
- Expansive countryside views of the Welsh countryside
- Tranquil woodland trails, perfect for mindful strolling
- A glimpse of the historic Chirk Aqueduct
With local cafes dotted nearby for a restorative break, the walk offers a relaxed, ideal pace for reconnecting with nature and enjoying a genuine sense of accomplishment. It’s no surprise that former Prime Minister David Lloyd George once described Chirk’s scenery as “a little bit of heaven on earth.”
As part of the National Trust’s Chirk Castle estate, Lady Margaret’s Park Club Campsite provides an exceptional base for walkers of all abilities. The site offers direct access to beautiful trails as well as on-site facilities including dog walks, laundry and motorhome service points – making it easy to head out for anything from a short ramble to an all-day hike.
