All UK Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsites Achieve Green Tourism Gold Accreditation

The Caravan and Motorhome Club is proud to announce that all of its UK Club Campsites and Head Office are now officially Green Tourism Gold accredited. This follows the successful assessment of an additional 32 Club Campsites in 2025, adding to the 122 sites awarded Gold status in 2024, marking a major milestone in the Club’s journey towards sustainable tourism excellence.

Green Tourism helps to embed responsible, sustainable and environmentally friendly practices across businesses and the wider tourism sector.  Green Tourism assesses businesses on their efforts across three core pillars: People, Places, and Planet. The prestigious Gold Award recognises the highest levels of environmental management, social responsibility and sustainable economic impact.

Harvey Alexander, Director of Marketing and Membership Services at the Caravan and Motorhome Club, said:

Each Club Campsite has gone above and beyond in areas such as biodiversity protection, energy conservation, waste reduction, water efficiency, and community engagement. Their passion for sustainable tourism shines through, and it’s fantastic to see that officially recognised with Green Tourism’s highest honour.”

The newly assessed sites underwent thorough evaluations during 2025. Sites already holding Gold status continued to innovate, with further assessments scheduled for 2026 and 2027.  Following redevelopment, Bunree Club Campsite has just reopened and will be assessed in the Autumn and  Bingham Grange Club Campsite will complete their accreditation once reopened.

Alexander added:
“This is a significant achievement for the Club. Sustainability has become a core focus in recent years and this recognition from Green Tourism affirms our progress. We remain committed to continuously improving our environmental, social, and economic performance, while helping our members get more from the great outdoors in a way that respects and protects it for future generations.”

The Club’s sustainability strategy includes formal partnerships with accredited bodies, baseline tracking of environmental impact, and promoting responsible behaviours among staff, members, guests, and suppliers. Through its vision of 'helping you get more from the great outdoors', the Club is working hard to ensure it’s a sustainable organisation for current and future members.
