Caravan and Motorhome Club expands training network with new Kent Training Centre

The Caravan and Motorhome Club is pleased to announce the addition of Kent Training to its now 18-strong network of leisure vehicle driver training centres across the UK.

Kent Training, located in Sandwich, will offer its first course, the Practical Caravan Course, on 14 August 2025. This expansion gives leisure vehicle users in the Southeast easier access to high-quality training to boost their towing confidence and manoeuvring mastery. 

Whether vehicle owners are gearing up for their first touring trip or have years of experience, the Club’s courses offer a safe, supportive learning environment for all levels to develop or refresh essential skills. The training is not only limited to leisure vehicle owners, those towing boats, horseboxes or trailers can benefit as well. 

With a 40-year track record and over 56,000 participants trained, the Club’s courses consistently receive top marks from learners, with nearly 80% rating them 9 out of 10 or higher. Courses are delivered by friendly, experienced Club members who understand first-hand what it takes to tow and tour safely. 

The training courses are split into: 

• Practical Caravanning – a 1.5-day course ideal for complete beginners. 

• Caravan Manoeuvring – a full-day course focusing on hitching, towing, and parking techniques. 

• Motorhome Manoeuvring – a full-day course designed to build confidence and control for motorhome users. 

Each session includes: 

• Practical reversing and driving exercises 

• Advice on hitching and towing 

• Legal and safety briefings 

• Guidance on safe loading and weight distribution 

• Straightforward safety checks 

Course prices: 

• Practical Caravanning Course – £218 

• Caravan Manoeuvring Course – £188 

• Motorhome Manoeuvring Course – £218 

Additionally, participants who complete the driving training courses will receive the Club’s Essential Guide to Touring (worth £16) for free and Club members can benefit from a five percent discount on caravan cover, motorhome insurance and car insurance.
