Why stay here ...

La Plage lives up to its name, being set on the west Brittany coast with direct access to a lovely sandy beach. It’s a large and family-friendly site, buzzing in high season but quieter off-peak, with lively, cheerful staff and good facilities for children and disabled guests.

The layout gives the site a feeling of space and its bright bar and restaurant are open all season, which is handy for those who prefer to travel out of school holidays.

The nearby town of Le Guilvinec comes alive in mid-afternoon when the fishing boats begin to return with the day’s catch. There’s also a vibrant street market each Tuesday and Saturday. There are, of course, some fabulous beaches in the area and Quimper, the cultural heart of Finistère, is just over half-an-hour away.

Great Site & Great Location

La Plage
We stayed here, for the second time for two weeks during August this year. The site is perfectly located, right next to the beach and within easy travelling distance of several towns that are worth a visit. The staff were very helpful and the site facilities, swimming pool, bar, toilet / shower block etc were very clean and all working. The pitches are not the best I have experienced and most are under trees, which can be a pain, but they are of a fair size and it is never too far to go for water. The only issue I had on this side was a lack of facility to dispose of grey water. According to the staff you were required to take it to the reception and dispose of it outside of the camp. Using the Elsan disposal point was possible, but this is raised and would cause difficulties if you were not strong enough to lift your waste water container up. All in all it is a nice site, in a beautiful location and our daughter loved it. If you have young children, under 14, then I would highly recommend this site for a break.

Great site for a family holiday

La Plage
Stayed at this site for 2 weeks with our 8 year old grandson and had a great time. The pitch was a reasonable size but if i was going again i would reserve one of the pitches on the last row by the playing field as they get the sun right into the late evening. Like a lot of French sites the pitch was a bit basic and not overly manicured etc, but this didn't spoil our enjoyment. I've seen some other reviews mention a "boulder" that is awkward to get past but having seen it i cant see what the fuss is about, its on a corner with lots of room to swing around it. The facilities were great, especially the pools and flume rides, and its just a 2 minute walk across the dunes and you are on the beach. There is a coastal path that runs from the site in either direction thats well worth exploring too. We visited a few of the local towns and would recommend Quimper, Concarneau and Penmarch as worth a look. All in all a great site for a family holiday.

Super site

La Plage
Excellent site in stunning location. All amenities well maintained and clean. Lovely beach straght out of the site. One minor irritation, no wi-fi all over the site, only at a "hot spot" near to Reception.

Great location by the beach

La Plage
We really enjoyed our stay at the end of August. Pluses: -great location right by the beach. -even tough it has a lot of facilities for kids, our pitch was far from the action to give us the peace we needed. - the little shop provides fresh croissants and baguettes - baked on the site Minuses: - the toilet block close to us only had 4 cubicles - not really enough for the amount of people. Many times it run out of soap and probably could do with more cleaning. Also the block closed at 11pm!!! There was one/two cubicle on the side but not great in the pitch black! - there was no lighting what so ever in the campsite at night in the area where we were located. So if you need a toilet trip - it is not the most pleasant experience. All in all, I would return and recommend this site.

Great Location and clean facilites but overall a let down for Caravan Club

La Plage
We noticed all the French who arrived were directed to their pitch but the English.... or just us as we had a large set up we're left to find he pitch and struggle alone. All the pitches are tiny... no way would we get our caravan on site if it wasn't for us having a mover... there was a massive rock on the corner going down to the pitches asked to have it moved due to it being hit by other holiday makers but wouldn't move. The toilet blocks were shut from 11pm-730pm which is after the time you can leave site in the morning... 2 outside toilets for the whole camping site so having to clock watch before the toilet shut in the evening was mad... even then having to queue due to evening entertainment finishing later than that, then the campers needing the loo. Far too many tree's over hanging pitches and tree's in the middle of the pitches, we strapped a few branches up away. 5 showers for each sex for the whole site at bottom, often having to queue for over half hr for a shower., and no air con the 1st 3 days in 30 degrees, you'd need a shower after a shower, this did seem to be resolved after a few days though. The road leading to the bottom where we were with a large twin wheel caravan's was only enough room for one at a time anyone coming towards you would have caused serious problems., with a football pitch alongside so people kicking balls as you are driving past with no fencing was slightly dangerous. We only managed to get our caravans out due to people moving their cars for us. Felt stressed all week worrying about getting the caravan out. Tried to charge is €30 for specific pitches but we didn't book specific pitches... if we had of done it wouldn't have been the ones we had, we just requested pitches next to each other if possible. Once approaching reception about these matters there wasn't a care in the world and our opinion wasn't even addressed or acknowledged. I will state though the other 2 sites we stayed at were fab and we had a fantastic time. But we were extremely disappointed with the last site especially as it was the most expensive and no way near the standard we expect for a 4* This review is a joint review from the Miller's who travelled with us. If the site has restricted access for the size we had why was it not addressed as we had the length of the set ups on the bookings.
