Why stay here ...

This small, pleasant site is ideally located for visiting the pretty harbour town of Honfleur and city of Le Havre. Well-tended, with clean facilities and pitches of a good size, it provides plenty for families in high season while offering a peaceful stay in low season.

After an active day, relax by the pool  and spa space or enjoy regional dishes or a light snack in the on-site restaurant. Fresh bread is also available daily from the shop.

Honfleur, just 5.5km away, is within cycling distance, and you'll be enchanted by its old harbour, lined with tall, narrow buildings with tile-clad façades. In contrast, Le Havre has bold, modernist architecture and an excellent modern art museum to explore. Also visit the natural stone arches and pebble beach at Etretat Plage.

Great Site for Honfluer Visit

Le Domaine de la Catinière
We used this site as a stopover with our caravan as it is only 90 minutes from the ferry terminal at Dieppe. The site was easy to find using SatNav preprogrammed with GPS coordinates. We arrived early July 2023 and were greeted on arrival by an english speaking lady and allocated a pitch in the first terrace. The pitch was grass and was a reasonable size for our caravan. Unlike other reveiwers we found the pitch to be fine and as a bonus it had a water supply on pitch which we had not booked. There is a lovely little restaurant which we used one night and the food was good. The toilet block was a mixture of french and english style but was clean and typical of french campsites. It is in a rural location with not much nearby so may not suit motorhomers but for caravans and campers with a car it is easy to get into Honfluer and other nearby destinations. We use the Newhaven to Dieppe route every year now as we want to avoid the hassle of Dover/Calais and I would happily return to this site. In fact, we are thinking of using it again when we return home . I would not use it as my main holiday destination but for a stopover or a few days I am happy to reccommend it.

Beware if ground moist, need mud mats

Le Domaine de la Catinière
stayed 3 nights 22/6/23 Reception staff lovely and helpful. Allocated pitch but had to divert around the site as a motorhome was stuck trying to reverse onto its pitch. It hadn't rained recently and the weather was hot and dry. Found our pitch and again with ourselves, got stuck and had great difficulty getting on the pitch. All pitches were grass and it appears they don't drain well, a number of other motorhomes had experienced problems. We needed a long cable as power boxes spaced out between pitches. we were directly opposite play area but it was still pre school holidays and we had no issues. there is a small restaurant on site, pool. Washing machines available reasonably priced. Did not need to use site sanitary facilities but they did appear old. Good cycling around local area, including back roads to Honfleur. Would advise not taking MH into the town, unless you are intending to use the city aire, as it gets filled up fast and quickly gets congested. Beautiful town, very picturesque gets busy. After 3 nights despite it being very hot and dry, we had great difficulty getting off the pitch mud mats required. Enjoyed it but would not use again as we have explored area. Have mud mats just in case

Disappointed

Le Domaine de la Catinière
We stayed at this site recently and although the pitches are well spaced and it is peaceful we cannot recommend it. There is nowhere to walk to, the road outside is quite busy with lots of blind bends and there is no footpath or bus stop. But what really spoiled it for us was the showers. They were FREEZING and I mean FREEZING! Lots of people were complained but the staff just shrugged and said they were warm. We will not stay here again.

Friendly well maintained site

Le Domaine de la Catinière
This is a three star campsite. Very near Honfleur and handy supermarket at Beuzeville for fuel and provisions. We use this site quite often as a stop over. It doesn't have modern toilets and does have a mixture of french squat and English WC's. It is kept clean but of course there will be occasions when the users tread grass and soil in - not the sites fault. There is a good terrace and bar and the cafe does reasonable meals at a decent price. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and speak good English. I like this site and have no hesitation in saying I would use it again.

Will not return

Le Domaine de la Catinière
Horrible toilet facilities - two "holes in the ground", a few Western-style loos but most without toilet seats, had to search around & go back to reception to ask where the services hook up was, difficult to find amongst the hedges. Glad we only stayed one night. Handy location for moving on being right by the Pont de Normandie. But nothing in the immediate vicinity to walk to.
