Why stay here ...

A little about this site

Turiscampo is an exquisite campsite with a beautiful Algarve location, offering a fantastic indoor heated pool, a modern gym, sauna, hammam and beauty treatments (a charge is payable to use the gym and spa facilities).

The large California swimming pool complex is surrounded by a terrace with a bar where refreshments can be enjoyed, and the restaurant has a varied menu including a snack-bar, bistro and a-la-carte to please all diners.

While there’s plenty to occupy families onsite, the pretty seaside village of Luz is well worth a trip for its stunning beach and delightful cafés. A bus service operates to Lagos and Sagres from the site entrance. Keen golfers can enjoy a round on one of the many courses, which have lovely views of the open countryside, vineyards, and coastline.

Poor location

Turiscampo
Poor location - Need a vehicle to get around, absolutely nothing outside of site Bus stop across road for Lagos 6km away, but to get to pria de luz the but stop is out on dual carriageway at next roundabout 10min walk away in heat. 2.5km to walk to Pria de luz but it’s up and down a very steep hill, in heat it’s not for everyone so really description should say vehicle needed to go out of site. Dogs barking lot of the nite, reception say wild dogs ? 5* toilets ( but got our own in motor home, and Wi-Fi around site👍 best bits.) Booked for 14 nites, wanted to change last 7 nites for another CAMC site in Portugal but CAMC wouldn’t agree! Would not come again due to location

A Good but Expensive Holiday Site

Turiscampo
One of the few privately owned (Yellow) Caravan sites in Portugal. Economic ACSI pitches are available but I think you have to get there by 10.30 am to get a decent one. The site I imagine is always running at 90-100 % occupancy even for larger more expensive pitches get there as early as possible have a good walk around. Sanitary facilities are excellent and regularly cleaned. Nice but expensive restaurant but a good snack bar with a decent menu. Small shop quite well stocked. Pool is good and they are building a new heated pool. Staff are lovely and of course multi lingual. Regular bus service just outside the gate to Lagos and onward. Major expansion is underway, new bungalows and pitches.

If Carlsberg did toilets and showers.....

Turiscampo
A fantastic site. Easy check in at reception. Everyone speaks English. Really nice bar area. Restaurant was a bit of a disappointment having gone for the buffet, our mistake, we should have gone for the A la Carte. Nice looking pool area although we did not use it. The toilets and showers are probably amongst the best you will find anywhere, never thought I could be so enthusiastic about a toilet and shower! Absolutely stunning and a credit to the site. Take a drive to Lagos. Worth the effort to park and walk around the town.

One of the best sites we have been on

Turiscampo
We had heard that the site gets busy, even off-season, so we booked well ahead, which was just as well as the site was pretty full (early March). By booking through the Club we had an excellent pitch, with plenty of space and our own water. Reception spoke good English and were very helpful. The toilet block was amazing. It was finished to a very high standard and kept immaculately clean. Absolutely fantastic! Although we didn't actually eat there, the restaurant had an excellent, well-priced menu - far superior to the average site restaurant. The pool area was delightful, with some brave souls actually taking to the waters! We thought that the wifi was good value for money and we were generally able to get a very good signal. Although we cycled, the pretty seaside village of Luz can be easily reached on foot. There is a lovely beach cafe here and beautiful walks along the cliffs. All-in-all we had four very relaxing days here and can highly recommend this outstanding site.
