Why stay here ...

Set in the Cork countryside outside the village of Blarney, this family-run site offers guests a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere throughout their stay. Its secluded location and carefully tended grounds make it appealing to those looking for a calm and tranquil escape in a rural spot.

The pitches are slightly sloping and well-spaced, with some offering views of Blarney Castle. Both hardstanding and grass are available, and mature hedges separate rows of pitches. With clean facilities and free Wifi, it provides all the essentials for a relaxing break.

The walk from the site into the village of Blarney is pleasant and with its castle and famous Blarney Stone, there is plenty to see. Those heading further afield will reach Cork in 15 minutes by car, where a waterfront stroll can be followed by a hearty pub lunch. Regular buses run from Blarney to Cork.

WARM WELCOME TO PRETTY SITE

Blarney Caravan Park gives an immediate impression of a well-kept park with manicured hedges and lawns, obviously cared for with some pride (Photo 1). After a lovely warm welcome we were invited to select our pitch and advised that we could drive around the site to see what was available first. The pitches (gravel and grass) are not massive but adequate for car and caravan with room enough for an awning – if you don’t use guy ropes (Photo 2). Beware that there is a slight slope and you will need to have a wedge/riser for one wheel. There is bit of a distance to water and electric that has convinced me to make a purchase of new hose on a reel. There is a very small shop at reception for minor items like bread and sweets, so stocking up with supplies are essential to avoid the drive back into the town. Free Wi-Fi is available, at the pitch too although weak you are able most times to stay in touch with home and news. If needed a full strong signal is available in reception with a desk made available for this purpose. There are two toilet/shower blocks (Photo 3) that are very clean (Photo 4) with free use of showers, which are activated by push-button. The water comes in short supply bursts but I found the right rhythm to manage a constant flow of warm water to enjoy. There is both a kitchen and a TV room, along with a laundrette that through expense (Photo 5) for both washing (€5) and drying (€2) registers the only blemish to staying on the site. However that would not deter me from staying again in this lovely pleasant site when in the area again.

A bit of Blarney!

Absolutely lovely site, with bags of space and level pitches. The owners were delightful, helpful and full of suggestions to make your stay more comfortable. Walk to town easy, but the half hour walk back uphill to the site was a struggle. Not really bike friendly.

Well organised and friendly site

The site is well placed to see Cork and Blarney, it's well organised with facities that work well and are clean. Our ferry was delayed and we arrived in the early hours, we had managed to let the site know the night before, and they made a difficult and tiring situation very smooth and easy.

Friendly Irish welcome

This site has such a nice, warm and friendly feel to it. The people who run the site could not have been any more helpful to us. We arrived three days before our friends and they knew they where coming later and told us to pick two sites together and they would place a reserve post on the site so we could be together. The site had smashing views and easy to get around the area from there. A five star site for us but maybe a little quite for family's.
