Buccaneer is part of the Explorer Group with sister brands, Elddis and Xplore. Originally based at Full Sutton, close to York, Buccaneer Caravans were launched in the late 1960s and produced over 8,600 caravans at their North Yorkshire factory.  In late 1998 the brand was purchased by Elddis and production was transferred to Consett where it remains.  The Group become part of the Erwin Hymer Group in 2017 and two years later in 2019 joined Thor Industries' Global Family of Companies.

The Commodore has generous bed dimensions, especially the single beds which exceed the standard UK width of 2'3" by an inch.  Natural light pours in through both the panoramic window and the star-gazing skylight.  The rear bedroom, with its transverse bed, provides a homely feel, enhanced by extras such as the corner dressing table and plush headboard. The inclusion of low-level lighting adds a touch of luxury. Very impressive indeed!
