Buccaneer is part of the Explorer Group with sister brands, Elddis and Xplore. Originally based at Full Sutton, close to York, Buccaneer Caravans were launched in the late 1960s and produced over 8,600 caravans at their North Yorkshire factory. In late 1998 the brand was purchased by Elddis and production was transferred to Consett where it remains. The Group become part of the Erwin Hymer Group in 2017 and two years later in 2019 joined Thor Industries' Global Family of Companies.

Buccaneer's Quantum motorhome range was unveiled in October 2025 for the 2026 season.

The Buccaneer Quantum F-4S has a silver cab with a white coachbuilt body. It is decorated with decals of various colours. Its habitation door is open and there is step to gain easy access.

The twin rear singles offer effortless entry and exit, while the front parallel lounge provides a comfortable social zone that doubles as a sleeping area.
