Vauxhall are big players in the best Towcar of the Year competition and have received 27 awards since the competition began. During the late 80s Vauxhall won the overall title for three years running with their Vauxhall Senator 3.0i CD, Vauxhall Cavalier SRi Saloon and their Vauxhall Cavalier 4x4 2.0i. In the 90s, it was the Calibra 4x4 (1993) and the Vectra 2.0i 16v GLS (1996) at number one, whilst the Omega CDX 2.5 TD won Diesel Towcar of the Year.

There have been class wins for the following Nova (1991), Corsa (1994), Astra (1992, 1997, 2001), Cavalier (1989, 1990, 1994, 1995), Carlton (1993), Senator (1988, 1991), Calibra (1993), Frontera (1996), Sintra (1998), Vectra (1996 and 2005). Last and by no means least, their Insignia winning the £24,000 - £26,000 price class in 2018.
