Switch Off Give Back trial launches at Ashridge Farm Club Campsite
01/06/2026
We are thrilled to announce the launch of 'Switch Off, Give Back,' an innovative sustainability initiative debuting at our Ashridge Farm Club Campsite in Hertfordshire.
This trial is designed to prove that when our community comes together, small individual actions can lead to a meaningful environmental and local impact.

Can you help us reach our 30% goal?
Energy consumption has a real cost, both to the planet and the Club, that is sometimes overlooked when everything is included in the price. We’ve set a target to cut energy use at Ashridge Farm Club Campsite by 30% this year, but we can only get there with your help. Your choices during your stay have a direct impact.
How you can get involved

At the heart of this trial is the idea that 'small habits create powerful outcomes.' During your stay at Ashridge Farm Club Campsite, we’re asking you to make simple adjustments to your routine:
- Mindful boiling: Only boil the water you need for your cuppa.
- Climate control: Dial the heating down by just one degree (you’ll stay just as cosy!).
- Power down: Switch off appliances and lights when leaving your unit or overnight.
- Heating habits: Avoid leaving the heating on while you’re out exploring the local area.
Keep an eye out for our Sustainability Board at reception, where we’ll be sharing live progress and showing the difference your actions are making.
Want to save more? You can save by choosing a non-electric pitch. Discover how with our non-electric saver offer, available at all UK Club campsites.
Supporting Greening Ashwell
As part of this initiative, the Club will donate to Greening Ashwell, funding and improving our local landscape. This local conservation project directly links members’ actions on the campsite with positive outcomes for the surrounding area. The Club will collaborate with the project to enhance habitats in and around the site through improved planting, nature support, and community volunteering days.

A message from the Club
"Our members already care deeply about the environment. 'Switch Off, Give Back' is about making that connection visible-showing how small, everyday actions can come together to create something meaningful for the places our members love to visit."
- Natasha Shane, Head of Strategic Product Development and Sustainability
The future of sustainable touring
The Ashridge Farm Club Campsite trial is a key milestone in our sustainability roadmap. We want to ensure that the freedom of the open road remains available for generations to come, without compromising the comfort you love.
The trial will run for an initial six-month period, and the findings will help shape the future of sustainability across our network of UK campsites.
