Days 1 - 5: UK to Cairns

On day 3, arrive in Cairns where you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, conveniently located close to the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon.

Discover the beautiful Frankland Islands on an included excursion. Cruise along the scenic Mulgrave River before heading out across the open water to a tropical island paradise.

Spend the day immersed in the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, snorkelling amongst vibrant corals and colourful marine life. Look out for sea turtles, giant clams and tropical fish as you discover the reef with experienced guides.

Days 6 – 7 Mission Beach
Distance: 139km / 87 miles

Today, collect your motorhome and begin your journey south. Visit the famous Babinda Bakery along the way for a coffee and a local favourite, the cream bun, before exploring the beautiful Babinda Boulders.

Surrounded by lush rainforest, the boulders are scattered along Babinda Creek. You can also visit Josephine Falls for a walk amongst rainforest with scenic lookout points.

Continue to Mission Beach, a beautiful stretch of tropical coastline perfect for relaxing. For a little more adventure, trek to the summit of Bicton Hill for wonderful views across the rainforest and coast.

Days 8 – 9 Townsville
Distance: 235km / 147 miles

As you travel south, enter the heart of Queensland’s sugar cane country where you can see one of Australia’s largest sugar mills in Ingham. The beautiful TYTO Wetlands are also well worth exploring, with more than 245 species of birds recorded.

Townsville lies within Queensland’s dry tropics and close to the central section of the Great Barrier Reef. Take time to explore the city and its waterfront, or visit the local sea turtle hospital for an insight into the conservation of these much-loved marine creatures.

Days 10 – 12 Airlie Beach
Distance: 275km / 172 miles

Airlie Beach is the vibrant gateway to the jaw-dropping Whitsunday Islands, where turquoise waters, beautiful beaches and tropical landscapes await.

Venture out among the Whitsunday Islands or follow the Whitsunday Great Walk from Brandy Creek to Airlie Beach to discover the dazzling sands of Whitehaven Beach.

Day 13 Rockhampton
Distance: 482km / 301 miles

Welcome to Rockhampton, the self-proclaimed Beef Capital of Australia in the heart of the Fitzroy Basin. Look out for the city’s six distinctive bull statues and enjoy a stroll through the beautiful Botanic Gardens.

For a quintessential Rockhampton experience, relax at the Gardens Tearooms beneath the magnificent 150-year-old Banyan Fig trees.

Days 14 – 15 Hervey Bay
Distance: 382km / 239 miles

Discover one of Queensland’s premier whale-watching destinations, where humpback whales breed and nurture their young. An optional cruise offers the chance to see these magnificent creatures up close and a chance to watch their playful antics.

You’ll also experience K’gari, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed sand island and the largest in the world. It’s a truly remarkable natural wonder where rainforest grows on the sand dunes. On this included excursion, swim in crystal-clear water, drive across 75-mile beach and discover ancient King Ferns with a local guide.

Days 16 – 17 Noosa
Distance: 186km / 116 miles

Onto the stylish town of Noosa, where the pace slows and there’s plenty of time to enjoy the town’s boutique shops and excellent restaurants. Head to Hastings Street for lunch or pick up a takeaway and enjoy it on the beach. Stroll along the coastal track towards Sunshine Beach or explore historic Halse Lodge, a heritage-listed Queenslander close to the beach.

Beyond the town, Noosa’s hinterland offers a wonderful change of scenery. Explore the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of the Noosa Everglades by canoe or kayak, surrounded by tranquil waterways and natural landscapes.

Days 18 – 19 Brisbane (148km/93km)
Distance: 148km / 93 miles

The journey south continues through the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane, Queensland’s vibrant state capital. After dropping off your motorhome and transferring to your hotel, enjoy exploring the city at your leisure.

Discover Brisbane’s lively South Bank along the river where you can wander through gardens and dip your toes in the outside pool. Join a cruise to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which cares for over 100 koalas and other native species of wildlife.

Days 20 – 21 Brisbane – UK

Enjoy the final morning in Brisbane for last-minute souvenir shopping and to soak up the city before transferring to Brisbane Airport for your overnight flight home.
