Bedford Certificated Locations

Bedford is an historic town that combines a range of local attractions with a convenient location by the M1 and on the Thameslink railway line to London, with Cambridge also within easy reach.

Its central feature is the River Great Ouse, with extensive riverside walks on offer. Other waterside attractions include the lakes of Priory Country Park, where a wide range of waterfowl can be observed. It also features a boating marina.

Bedford's historic elements include its castle and also the Bunyan Museum, dedicated to John Bunyan, the 17th century Bedford native who wrote the Pilgrim's Progress. The book has been translated into more than 200 languages.

Other museums include the triple treat of the Higgins Bedford, which combines the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery, Bedford Museum and Bedford Gallery under one roof.
