Why stay here ...

Croft Ends family run CL, which is part of a working farm, is situated on a 0.75 acre field with panoramic views over the Pennines and Lakeland Fells.

Our super pitches with 16a supply are fully serviced, on hard standing and surrounded by lawn. We provide a washroom with wash basin (H and C) and W.C., a cycle shed, information room, chemical point and recycling facilities.

One of the many footpaths from the site leads to the quaint village of Brampton, where the 'New Inn' serves locally sourced food and real ale. The path continues to the pretty village of Dufton, where the 'Stag Inn' offers more culinary delights.

A path from Dufton leads to the U.K.'s largest glacial valley, High Cup Nick. The walk involves a section of the Pennine Way, which offers the opportunity to enjoy spectacular views over the Eden Valley and beyond.

One and half miles from the site is the historic market town of Appleby in Westmorland. Regular trains running on the picturesque Settle to Carlisle railway stop at the town's station as well as twice weekly steam trains.

Being within 1 mile of the A66, Croft Ends is ideally located for visiting both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

Well-behaved children and dogs are welcome on the site at no extra charge.

Val`s farmhouse kitchen can also provide a hearty breakfast for those wanting an extra treat or perhaps for ease on your day of departure. We can also provide luxury accommodation in our farmhouse for family or friends wishing to spend time in the beautiful Eden Valley.

(Booking essential for accommodation or breakfast.)

What a find

I was looking for a small site not too far from Ullswater as we were dropping off our grandchildren on an Outward Bound course there. So glad I came across this one. Immaculately kept, even the barn/ garage where the very clean toilet is is in apple pie order. Still here as I write this watching the ever changing weather over the North Pennines, don’t think I would ever tire of it. As others have said, a warm , helpful welcome . Easy to access many areas, Appleby-in-Westmorland is a pretty little town only about 2 miles away. Yet to discover other places but now the grandchildren have been dropped off we shall do so! I’ve stayed on a few sites, large and small in the Lake District and surrounding areas but this little site is hard to beat

A site of beauty

We stayed on this site last week for four nights. On our arrival we were greeted by Andrew who showed us the available pitches and then helped us to set up on our pitch. The views were fantastic from our caravan. Nearby is the small town of Appelby with various shops selling everything one would require. Both Val and Andrew were full of information including the history of their farm and surrounding areas. We will definitely be staying on this site again.

lovely friendly site.

Me and my son stayed here for 1 day only to walk up high cup nick. We were greeted by val who was very friendly and helpful. Appleby is within walking distance where there are a few nice pubs for food and drink. A quiet and peaceful site run to a high standard and you get loads of room for awning. Great site to stay and i will deffo be back next time im in the area.

A stunning site in a perfect location.

Just returned from our first stay on this site. We were made to feel very welcome from the start, with Andrew showing us around the site and them pointing out the landmarks of one of the best views we've seen on any site. The site is beautifully maintained, with burst of colourful flowers to add a touch of colour. The pitch was perfectly level, a nice change! This is a beautiful area, with fantastic walks available from the door. Dufton is well worth a visit, with some incredible walks and a very nice pub for a refresher after your walk. Would wholeheartedly recommend this site.

Lovely site in excellent position

As described by other reviewers, this site is well kept, peaceful and has lovely views. The owner is very friendly and provides lots of information on the area. I didn't use the WC so can't comment. Appleby is pretty and interesting, and check out nearby Rutter Force waterfall if you have time - but if you have a big unit don't try and drive right down the access road to it!
