Lovely site

Stybeck Farm
We have just returned from a 9 night stay at Stybeck. A lovely warm welcome from Louise a good pitch plenty of space and all amenities with ease of access. The farm is busy and yes the dogs do bark with the coming and going they are dog's after all . The chickens goats and donkey a delight to watch. Louise is a gem warm friendly and nothing is to much trouble if you need anything. The walking in the area is also great and buses run they to Keswick. Have read some negative reviews but we found it a wonderful place to stay. It's a working farm with lot's of activity and they work super hard but still have time to be helpful and welcoming. It's definitely worth a visit and we will definitely be going again. The Bremmers.

Brilliant Location for touring the Lakes

Stybeck Farm
If you like staying on a working farm with sheep and cattle you will enjoy this site, the owners are nice welcoming people. Every pitch has electric and there are several standpipes easily assessable for fresh water. The views are excellent down into the valley and very quiet in the evening after all the farm work has finished for the day. The pitch we had was in a separate area on hardstanding just for 2 campers, while this is accessed by a small ramp it is easily negotiated, we were so relieved that we chose this site as we didn't get stuck as many others did on other sites due to the wet weather. The owners have a farm shop, if you ran short of basic foods you could easily survive a few days with out moving. During our stay we had an issue with our van engine, the owners could not have been more helpful. We will definitely return when we are back in Cumbria.

A working farm with excellent access to multiple Wainwrights

Stybeck Farm
Having read some negative reviews we were slightly apprehensive, however the owners are down to earth Cumbrian hill farmers. The area we were allocated was very good. You may need blocks but the area has lovely views We came here for access to the fells, which totally delivered. No, there’s no WiFi or TV signal but that’s not what you come to this part of Cumbria for. Shower immaculately clean with loads of hot water, though it is £1, and the toilet again, scrupulously clean. Come here for access to the Dodds, Helvellyn, Thirlmere and a farm experience. Recommended.

Worst CL site I have seen

Stybeck Farm
We were booked in to this site, first of all the directions are appalling, we only found it after my husband walked up a lane. It is the worst CL site we had ever seen. I am amazed that Caravan and Motorhome club accepted it. When we arrived there were 4 men jet washing scramble bikes. Loose dogs barking as I walked about. Our impression straight away was that it was a travellers site. The owner eventually came out and pointed to 2 places that we could chose, one was on the side of the road where there would have been nowhere to sit out. Vehicles would have been passing all the time. The second pitch was in a very small area where there were other vans that had obviously been there for a long time, plant pots around the caravan.Again not much space to site out. I immediately told the owner that I wasn't impressed and wouldn't be staying. I would not recommend this site to anyone.

Farmyard

Stybeck Farm
Basically we were asked to pitch in the driveway to the farm which at times was not only noisy but quite dangerous with some traffic moving quite quickly. The shower was less than basic and also required money in the meter to operate. Great access to the sticks pass route to Hellvelyn. Nice cafe and a pub relatively close.
