Why stay here ...

Lakeside Meadow is a beautiful grassed 5 acre site, with its own lake (no fishing). It is approached from the road by a gated access onto a private drive, with a further gate along the drive opening out onto the site. Each pitch has its own EHU & water supply along with a grey waste disposal point. There is an enclosed chemical waste disposal and bin area.

As well as the lake we have 2 smaller ponds, a couple of bridges and views out onto the open countryside. Dogs are welcome. We do ask that they are kept on a lead whilst on site and please clean up after them. There is a very good local pub which serves food just one mile away. The Yew Tree and The Red Lion (which is in the opposite direction) are both equally excellent pubs that serves food. The village of Brailsford with its post office and village shop and cafes is 2 miles away. The picturesque town of Ashbourne is just 6 miles away with its winding cobbled streets, market place and Tudor & Georgian heritage, along with more than 200 listed buildings. While away the hours browsing the many antique shops, designer fashion shops and individual retailers before enjoying a well deserved coffee, lunch or afternoon tea in one of the many cafe's and tea rooms. Or maybe enjoy a drink or 2 in the local pubs or wine bar.

Ashbourne is known as The Gateway to Dovedale, home to the iconic stepping stones and part of the Peak District National Park. Britain's first park, formed in 1951.

If the bright lights of the city are more your thing, the City of Derby is just 10 miles away, the UK's most central city. Here you will find a large Intu shopping centre with all the usual retailers you would expect. Or you can explore the Cathedral quarter and enjoy the numerous independent shops and see Derby's Gothic cathedral. Or maybe pay a visit to the Derby Brewing Company. Derby is home to many, many small pubs and micropubs.

After all your exploring, return to Lakeside Meadow to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Derbyshire countryside.

THE best CL site we have ever visited

Lakeside meadow CL has to be in contention for CL of the year, access is fantastic, set well back from the road, local to numerous beautiful scenic places to visit during your stay. The site itself is immaculate and is a credit to the owners. My wife and I and our little maltichon absolutely loved it. There are walls around the lake where if you want to can make friends with the ducks, geese and not forgetting the shoals of carp (that all like to be fed) we will definitely be returning to Lakeside in the not too distant future. Well done to Tim and Jill for making the site what it is.

Best CL I have ever been to

This is the best Cl site I have been to in 20yrs of caravaning. The pitches are spacious and all fully serviced. The actual site is delightful with lots of different kinds of trees and a beautiful lake with lots of big carp swimming about. There is a walk around the site to take your dog which is just long enough. If you want a longer walk Heritage Wood is just over the road. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and I was blown away with the whole package to such an extent that I booked to go again.

A perfect setting for peace & tranquility.

Just returned from this wonderful CL, if your looking for peace & tranquility this us it. A lovely setting, plenty of space between caravans and just to make it even better each pitch serviced with it's own water tap, electric point & pebbled waste water soak away, even the loo waste is under cover with everything you need to make that job easy. A very relaxing place & if your there on a Wednesday you can listen to the local bell ringers. As a previous reviewer commented this site must be a contender for CL of the year!

A contender!

This must be a contender for c.l. of the year ! A very spacious, quiet site, serviced pitches, well thought out, and cared for. Lovely outlook over a small lake, easy access to points of interest, and pubs nearby. Owner very helpful.

Great Site

What a cracking site. We went for August Bank Holiday 2018 and they had not long opened. We was made very welcome and the site owner was very helpful he was even happy to get us fresh wood for the fire pit. We used the fire pit one evening and was nice just sitting out round an open fire when all you can hear is wildlife. It is such a quiet site well away from the main road ideal for a relaxing weekend. Would be worth going back again.
