Why stay here ...

The Gables CL site comprises of 5 pitches with hard standing situated on the edge of the unspoilt hamlet of Moorend which is famed for its “Hole-in-the-wall”, a “terrace” of listed buildings which form an archway over the roadway into Moorend. Hence the importance of following our directions when accessing the site with your caravan or motorhome.

Our small holding is ideally situated in an unspoilt rural location offering access to many footpaths in the locality on which you can enjoy stunning views in Bradley & Moorend.

We are an adult only site and welcome dogs. Three quarters of an acre of the 1.5 acre site is fenced off and can be used for dog walking.

We opened in April 2022 and have electric hooks ups available to each pitch. There are also water taps and a grey waste point at each pitch. There is no additional charge for an awning or use of dog walk area.

Being situated close to Ashbourne on the edge of the Peak district there are plentiful tourist opportunities which include Carsington Water, High Peak and Tissington trails, Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall as well as the pretty nearby town of Ashbourne and the pretty village of Osmaston with its quaint cottages, duck pond and village pub (both within walking distance for the active).

Lovely, friendly, peaceful site in great location

The Gables
Just spent the weekend in our motorhome on this site, meeting up with friends who stayed in their caravan. Very peaceful site which has excellent serviced pitches each with their own water supply, EHU and soakaway for grey water. The off lead dog exercise paddock was a great space for our dog to let off steam. There’s also a footpath a few yards down the road from the site leading across meadows and round a small lake. The Shire Horse pub serves good food and is just a couple of miles away and we were able to get a table on a Friday evening even though we hadn’t booked. The site owners were very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay and we look forward to returning again soon.

pleasant, friendly , peaceful, new site

The Gables
I think we were about the third customer, to this newly opened site. This location is stunning , just off the A52, with easy access from Ashbourne. The peak District is a fantastically beautiful place to visit, but we have always found the area to be crowded and full of visitors , walking and climbing the area. So we were lucky to find this peaceful tranquil site. Hidden within the beautiful countryside away from the crowds. Well laid out, with full service pitches, spacious hard standing with grassed area for the awning or sitting Very helpful and friendly owners, who couldn't do enough to help or assist us, during our stay. . Dog friendly with public footpath near by , bus stop a short distance away . Asbourne has supermarkets , such as Aldi , M & S food hall and an unspoilt market town. Close enough to visit Dovedale . Postcode: DE6 2AY Visitors Centre Carsington Water, Ashbourne DE6 1ST England Restaurant, parking , water , boats , walking The Tissington trail, an old disused rail track which has been turned into a great cycle/ walkway. The tunnel is a short cut back into the pretty town of Ashbourne., DE6 1FD
