Why stay here ...

The Green Farm CL is a secluded, peaceful site in the hamlet of King Sterndale, yet only 3 miles from Buxton. It is a beautiful setting overlooking the Wye Valley with a backdrop of Grade II listed limestone barns. Views are 360 degrees of fields, ancient protected woodlands of the Wye Valley, and the lovely village green with its "Butter Cross" commemorating Elizabeth I's coronation. The site has mature trees to provide dappled shade. Facilities are simple: Drinking water, waste via a natural environmentally friendly cess pit, battery charging and recycling and rubbish facilities.

King Sterndale is a small hamlet of limestone buildings around a village green with post box and telephone, and a beautiful church. Green Farm  is ideally placed to explore the Peak District based at its heart in a rural setting, but just a few miles from Buxton with its Opera House, Pavilion Gardens, Pooles Cavern, Tree tops adventure at Go Ape and many pubs, restaurants and shops. Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Monsal Head and the Goyt valley are all easily accessible by car. Walks exist from the door down Wye Dale, Woo Dale, Chee Dale and Deep Dale (a wildlife trust area) with easy access to the Midshires Way and the Monsal Trail (a registered cycle route - Sustrans 680), with bike hire available from the nearby Blackwell Mill. The River Wye, within 100 metres, is one of Europe's best fly fishing rivers (rod licences from the relevant authorities necessary). The Buxton & High Peaks Golf Club, approximately 5 miles away, one of the oldest in the Derbyshire region, will test even the most avid of golfers; it is meticulously attended and is in top condition.

Testimonial recently received:

"Green Farm CL is a gem! Situated at the end of a long cul de sac in a pretty village makes it a lovely peaceful haven. Lots of walks in the area and quite a few from the site. Friendly, helpful owners. What is there not to love?!" - Stephen & Sheila Longworth, May 2014.

Please note: Electric car charging is not available at this CL.

No electricity only adds to the magic!

Green Farm
A super site that just goes to confirm why you buy a caravan - self sufficiency (no electricity), using your own facilities and enjoying the silence (until the pheasants kick in early doors). The owners really go the extra mile to welcome you (make use of their advice regarding accessing the site) whilst giving you the space to enjoy your stay. Superb walking straight from the site and easy access to Buxton and the wider area. Looking forward to another stay.

Quiet out of the way CL

Green Farm
We initially booked for 7 nights but extended to 9 as it is such a peaceful well kept location, the CL is situated in the small hamlet of King Sterndale and at the end of the road so no passing traffic. There are a number of walks from the site and Buxton is very close by with the nearest shops. The Monsal trail can be ridden to if you are confident on busy main roads A6, we chose to put the bikes in the car and drive to the Monsal trail car park. The Tissington cycle trail is also near by. We found the location excellent for exploring the peak district and nothing seemed to far away. The site does slope a little so you may need levelling blocks. The owners were very welcoming and provided good information and we'd like to thank them for sharing their haven of tranquility.

Very peaceful!

Green Farm
We stayed for two nights at this very pretty and tranquil site. Brett was very welcoming and helpful - the views were lovely and the walks and bike rides challenging but beautiful. there is an issue with soft ground but we were fine. We loved it!

A lovely spot

Green Farm
Found the place easily thanks to instructions from the owner, who was friendly, helpful & welcoming. It’s a pretty location within a short drive of Buxton, very peaceful & surrounded by woods, meadows & fields. Didn’t take the opportunity of the local walks but our toddler loved seeing the sheep, horses & chickens nearby! Would definitely return.
