Leddon Farm is a basic farm site but that's all you need here, lovely high and long views over the North Devon countryside with Lundy Island in the distance. A good spacious area of grass on this CL with plenty of room, great to just sit outside the van and enjoy what's in front of you. There's a choice of walks down to Welcombe Mouth but avoid the main car route unless you want your nose and ears clipped by wing mirrors! Take the nice leafy Welcombe valley route behind the Old Smithy Pub and follow it down alongside the stream, it's a cool ferny walk in hot weather. It's not an easy stroll, the walk is longer than it seems but worth the trek, there are no facilities at the beach. The SW coast path links in here, probably one of the most strenuous parts to tackle, quite busy and narrow with ant like walkers going up and down, there are some very steep steps more suitable for long shanked walkers! Back in the village the Old Smithy Pub provides welcome relief, nice bar food and a garden for outdoor eating and drinking. There's a pottery next door and the farm also have a small sheltered camping field on offer. Many thanks to the Cornish family for an enjoyable stay!
