Lovely views, great location

We stayed here at the end of August, just after a few days of heavy rain. The site is level and well drained but as a precaution extra matting had been laid down at the entrance of the site to make it easier to drive on and off. The owners are very helpful and welcoming, you felt that nothing was too much trouble if you needed to ask for help. Lovely hill views in the distance & the site is well located to explore the North Devon coastline. We couldn’t explore as much as we would’ve liked on our scooter as the weather was not great but we particularly liked Croyde bay. I would advise if approaching from the East, not to take the A399 but go via Barnstaple, the A361 & A3123, we did this route when leaving and it was so much easier than the A399 which is narrow in places for an A road. Overall an immaculate CL, highly recommended.

A TREAT of a CL

We came across HIGHER TWITCHEN, as I asked for recommendations and Sam said we would be made welcome with our dogs. Many say, you'll be welcome...but they mean, they except dogs. Any self respecting dog owner, doesnt need to be told to pick up, or keep under control...so it was nice to feel "WELCOME" Sam and Mark have a newly opened CL, but are not new to this game. Both very experienced, and very good at what they do...Mark is a caravan engineer, which is a bonus for any unforeseen problems. The site is just off the main road, but well sheltered and still retains wonderful views. It's a gem if a site, we have already booked to go again! Its immaculate, and has all you need for a restful stay, but close to beaches, Moors or towns. If only all CLs were based on Higher Twitchen!! Oh, and its adult only 🤗

Fantastic Site

What can I say, we had a shakey start on our first holiday with our camper but we couldn't have asked for more what with outstanding scenery and perfect hosts. Mark and Sam were both so helpful and we had a fabulous 5 days with them. Its a beautiful part of the country and perfectly situated . Thank you both for a smashing time. Kay and Kev

Excellent CL Site

This is our first time using a CL site and from the moment of booking, Sam and Mark could not have been more welcoming and in addition gave us support with local information and places to go. We enjoyed a lovely week at the site, it's peaceful, very clean and secure and gives good access to local beaches. We also had a problem with our electrics and Mark who has a mobile South West Caravan servicing and repair business, was able to help us with. This was so helpful considering we were on holiday. We had a lovely holiday and would recommend this site to anyone.

Excellent New CL

Sam and Mark were very welcoming & friendly. This is a newly opened CL which is very well maintained. The grass was cut several times in our 2 week stay. The basic facilities are excellent & spotlessly clean. Access to the site is easy & security is first rate with a coded barrier for access and departure. The site is not visible from the road and offers terrific views across the Devon hills. There is a small amount of distant road noise at peak times but nothing obtrusive. It is an excellent base for touring North Devon. There are wonderful coastal path walks within a short drive & easy access to Coombe Martin, Lynton, Woolacombe, Barnstaple etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would highly recommend this CL
