Travel back in time when pitching on this site...

Swan Inn
This is one of those sites where I’m almost loath to give a rave review, because if it gets too popular then it might stop me getting a pitch! I have to admit this is my ideal site, it has easy access to basic external toilets and water/rubbish facilities, but most importantly it’s right at the back of a lovely remote oldie world pub. To say this is small is maybe something of an understatement(!), but what they lack in size they make up for big time in atmosphere and warmth of welcome. The pub doesn’t serve draught beer, but instead has a (very) wide range of bottled beers/ciders etc. which more than makes up for the lack of a barrel. If you just want to get away from it all at a very reasonable price then I can heartily recommend this CL, and with all the local walks/bike rides available it just puts the icing on the cake, now just please don’t book it! :-)

No frills - great atmosphere!

Swan Inn
If you want to be in the wilds of Herefordshire, on a no-frills CL - then this site is wonderful! It's like going back in time to 'Heartbeat', or even the 1950s. What's on offer is a rough field at the back of a 'pub' - and a loo, and the lovely lady and her mother who keep various animals like sheep, cats, ducks and hens. The Swan only sells bottled beer and cider - but there is a wide choice. You have to be sociable too, as there's really just one table in the middle of the small bar - and you'll have to sit at it, as the locals insist! On cold days the open fire is burning. We've been twice - and we love it, even though there's about two miles of single track road from Kington - which is a small town full of character. Great walks too, including Hergest Ridge - Mike Oldfield used to live nearby, hence the album. On top of all that, this is one of the cheapest CLs around.
