Why stay here ...

At the end of Therfield Heath SSSI, just outside Royston, Thrift Farm CL welcomes guests with their caravans or motorhomes to a securely fenced one acre site which is easily accessible through the farm. It is set well back from the road and has far-reaching views into Cambridgeshire in one direction and into Hertfordshire across a wooded and undulating landscape in another.

Each grass pitch is serviced with water tap, 16 amp EHU and grey water drainage. There are also waste/recycling bins and chemical waste disposal discreetly found within easy reach.

Thrift Farm is part of a working livestock and arable farm, so you might see farm machinery out and about. Farm livestock graze peacefully in adjacent paddocks.

If you need to top up supplies, within 5 minutes drive you will find a large Tesco, or M&S/Aldi on the ring road around Royston.

A network of footpaths can be accessed directly from the site. Therfield Heath SSSI with the excellent Heath Café and Fox and Duck pub in the village of Therfield (with Kelshall and its ancient church next door) make great destinations or stop off points for walkers. Take your binoculars, for many reasons, there is much to see on the way.

Although our local market town of Royston is on the outer reaches of Hertfordshire, the borders of Cambridgeshire, Essex and Bedfordshire are nearby. With a short drive/walk/cycle in any direction, you will find small country roads dotted with well-maintained, attractive and historic villages.
