Yarmouth Certificated Locations

Yarmouth is a port town situated on the Isle of Wight and thanks to its large harbour, it acts as the gateway to the island for visitors via a ferry from Lymington in Hampshire.

It's a great place to take a British break as the weather is often favourable and there is plenty to do.

Walk along Yarmouth's grid system street layout imposed by the Normans and you'll soon see Yarmouth Castle, which was built in 1547 and can be toured through English Heritage.

Another highlight is the pier, which is the longest timber example in England still open to the public.

Kids will enjoy Tapnell Farm Park and the opportunity to meet wallabies among other creatures, as well as the Victorian gun battery Fort Victoria, which now houses a number of other attractions.

A bus tours holidaymakers around the island, but walkers will also be in their element thanks to the Isle of Wight Coastal Path and an array of Sites of Special Scientific Interest dotted around nearby.

Yarmouth offers a number of pubs, restaurants, cafes and other eateries for visitors - and don't miss sampling the local Minghella Ice Cream either.
