Just returned from this fabulous site. Great welcome from the owners, with loads of tourist information to keep us busy. The site was brilliant with amazing views. Even though the weather wasn't at it's best, we were out and about every day. Beacon Fell is just a short walk up the hill, which is stunning. Loads of wildlife and even more views. We could even see Blackpool Tower from there in the distance - well I could, but my husband said it wasn't! Loads of public footpaths to explore. There are many small businesses to visit in the area, which were mentioned in the information pack. You can sit in your van and watch the sheep, rams, hares, pheasants, owls and many more creatures going about their daily routines. There was so much to do, but we couldn't do a lot as we had a flat tyre, which John kindly helped us sort out, so we'll definitely be going back to explore some more with hopefully better weather! Thanks again for a wonderful time.

A lovely well kept hidden gem of a CL . Adults only and 5 well placed pitches with loads of room , water and grey waste on each pitch. We were warmly welcomed by Helen who gave us information on the surrounding area and the Forest of Bowland. We later met John who was most chatty and offered advice on areas to walk . There’s great views of the fells from each pitch and you can watch the sunset too. This CL is quite remote and you need to follow the directions given and NOT your sat nav. If coming from the north I’d continue to J 32 and not take 33, thinking to can short cut the way in. The surrounding roads are narrow with some hump back bridges, certainly not the way to go if your towing or in a large Motorhome. We were able to get a Tv signal, without a booster, but internet/ phone signal is intermittent if any ( you may need to walk around to get a signal.) Go with enough provisions to last as there are no nearby shops ( about 5 miles away) . We had booked in for 2 nights to visit the Garstang agricultural show , but the site was so nice we stayed an extra night. We’ll certainly be back as it seems an ideal spot to do some walking from,or to just get away from it and chill. Oh, and if your into stargazing, this site is DARk! with no light pollution.

Don't rely on your Satnav - follow the website directions! A very well-kept site, with very friendly owners, Helen & John. We were welcomed by Helen, who gave us lots of information and a cracking little book containing lots of info about the area. All the pitches are hardstanding with plenty of room between them. The views are far reaching and change with the weather. We spent 4 nights here, just chilling out. In the late afternoon / early evening we could sit and watch paragliders and glider planes for hours. The farm stock and wildlife kept us entertained, with calves and sheep in the surrounding fields, and fishing ponds adjacent to the site. We visited Beacon Fell and could see the Great Orme of Llandudno and Blackpool Tower from the same vantage point at the visitor centre, though unfortunately the VC was shut. We had a meal at the Cross Keys, Whitechapel, be aware the portions are huge. TV reception is a bit hit and miss, our caravan neighbours had a signal, but we didn’t, and the mobile phone signal is poor, but you can walk onto the lane and pick up 4G. As said elsewhere, the site is dog friendly, but there is nowhere on site to walk a dog, you have to leave the site and walk along what can be a busy single-track country road – especially at, or near, harvest or silage time. We were aware of these issues when we booked, and they were not detrimental to our stay. Will we go back – definitely.

Immaculate, well-run site - a Top Site!

Dale View
What a lovely, well-run, immaculate site, with stunning views and a very warm welcome - certainly one of the nicest CLs that I have ever stayed at. Each of the 5 level hardstanding pitches has electric hookup, water, and a waste water drain, and there are several picnic tables/benches on site. All that was needed was a little sunshine! Despite the somewhat long set of directions, by following Helen's detailed instructions (from the North), I arrived without getting lost - definitely a bonus! Although I have the CAMC satnav, as this kept 'losing satellite connection', the written instructions were an essential backup. The lanes are reasonably quiet for dog walking, but as my stay was only for a night, I didn't get to explore very much, but I did enjoy the views even in the grey, windy weather. Definitely a very good CL, and one to which I shall return. Many thanks, Helen.
