Enjoyable two night stay

Short visit to area for 2 nights mid August. Very easy to find, just off A59, entrance up a steep slope but not a problem. Hard standings are quite large & plenty of room between them, levelling blocks needed on pitch 3,4 & 5. EHU for each pitch and a small toilet room in the area reserved for the CL, didn't use this so cannot comment. Walk into Whalley approx 20mins and if you want bus to Clitheroe (M2 or M22), these can be caught in Whalley. If you like a drop of good beer, I would recommend the bus to Clitheroe & visit Holmes Mill (Bowland Brewery) which is the longest bar in England with 42 hand pumps. The food was very good. Overall the CL was good value at £14 per night and we will certainly come back.

Easy to find and a nice introduction to caravaning

We have only just bought a caravan and needed to try it out so went to Wiswell Shay and stayed 2 nights If this is what we can expect then we will throughly enjoy caravaning. Electrics are working fully on pitch five. Shower / toilet block is small but completely adequate and actually quite quaint. Set off a main road with a bit of traffic noise but not intrusive and when in your van you can't hear it anyway. Grass could have been a bit shorter but overall I throughly enjoyed my stay. Lovely walks to whalley, Barrow and Pendleton. Well done to the owners, I would definitely stay again

Good for weekends or longer

We've just had 16 enjoyable nights at Wiswell Shay Farm! Very large, slightly sloping, hard standing pitches with big grass areas between. Toilet and shower (50p for as long as you wanted) housed in small, clean trailer type shed. No electric problems, so must've been fixed? There's some views of distant hills and a little road noise, but nothing much. Close to the A59 so access not a problem. Good base for walking and cycling. Thank you for a nice stay.

Very poor electrics

I had nothing but trouble with the electrics on pitch 4 &5. Tried cable from man on 3 still no luck. Tried connection on pitch 3 no luck. Checked cables all OK. Decided it was my van, although no circuit breakers had tripped. Went home on same day, connected up at home with 2 different cables every thing worked fine. These electrics appeared not capable of running a new van arrangement, kept getting Reverse Polarity light in my van. At home systems perfect. Spoilt our week-end.

Thank you for such a trouble free visit

We have just returned from a 12 night stay at this site and couldn't praise the owners more. I can really see their vision, whilst work is in progress restoring the farmhouse and grounds, they have invested time and effort into providing great hard standings and a modern shower and loo which were cleaned frequently.  We didn't hear the road noise from inside our unit and didn't find it obtrusive.  The 360 degree views were great and it is a great base for visiting local picturesque villages.  We were visiting my frail and poorly Father who lives local and the owners couldn't have made it any more stress free. Thank You, we'll see you again soon. Mike and Jenny
