Why stay here ...

Andy and Donna look forward to welcoming you to Slade House CL site. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful site away from the hustle and bustle of daily life then we should be what you are looking for. We are a rural site set on the edge of the Lincolnshire Fens close to the village of Kirton (2.5 miles away).

We are a working smallholding and I'm sure our goats and sheep will come to the fence to you at some point during your stay to see what's going on ... our goats are Milky and Mars ... and their partner in crime is Areo our Ryeland ram, yes there's a chocolate bar theme going on with the names. We should always have fresh free range eggs available and maybe the odd goose egg if you're lucky. As well as our livestock we are also blessed with quite a bit of wildlife with Roe and Muntjac deers being regular visitors along with our almost resident badgers...they live in the next field and can be spotted rooting about at dawn and dusk if you are quiet.

We are a family site and you are welcome to bring your dogs but as we are a smallholding we must ask that dogs remain on a lead at all times while on site, even the well behaved ones I'm afraid. There are several close by walks where the dogs can come off the lead and stretch their legs.

Our site is a mown paddock field of about 1/2 acre set back from the road. Entrance to the site from the lane via double locked gates, you will be emailed/texted the code before your visit. As you drive to your pitch you will pass the service area where you'll find drinking water and disposal points for grey water, an elsan point and bins. At this time we do NOT have electric hook up, you will need to be self-sufficient within your own vans.

While we are rural we are not completely isolated, the village of Kirton is just 2.5 miles away which offers everything you'll need such as a Co-op, pub, half a dozen takeaways. The market town of Boston with its famous Stump is just 6.5 miles away while the market town of Spalding and the Springfields shopping outlet is just 12 miles away.

If you are a walker you can pick up the sea defence bank which is just over a mile away down a public footpath where there is mile upon mile of walks in both directions which is excellent for letting your dog burn off some steam (livestock on some sections). Heading north on the flood bank you will come to RSPB Frampton Marsh which is a very well respected reserve within the bird watching community.

We are currently working on a little website which we'll keep updating with information on the local area and our site.

Relaxing and peaceful Off-Grid CL

Slade House
Brilliant Off-Grid CL. Very tidy and well looked after and a nice welcome from the owners Andy and Donna. Quiet country lanes and villages...perfect for walking and cycling with a beautiful RSPB nearby Frampton Marsh. Great price and we always book a week or two stay when we come as it is so peaceful and relaxing.

A stay in November

Slade House
We stayed for 3 nights on this CL in mid November, It is a new site with very flat grass, good facilities and no hook up [ which suite us perfectly] The site is accessed with a code on a locking chain ; the code had been emailed to us in advance. The gate is a bit awkward [sticking a bit] but we were able to come and go easily. The position is excellent as we are birdwatchers. We were able to visit RSPB Frampton which is just 5 miles away. We also walked to Frampton along the sea dyke which was wonderful. We feel it would be worth promoting this site in birding magazines. The cost is very reasonable [£7.50 per night] and to our surprise at this time of year the owner offers 3 nights for the price of two; an unexpected bonus! Thanks for an excellent winter break!

Such a peaceful site

Slade House
Slade House is such a peaceful site situated on a very quiet lane tucked away in the countryside south of Boston. It’s beautifully kept with wild flower margins that support a healthy population of butterflies. Everything is easy to find : water, waste, Elsan and recycling - all clean and well presented. There’s also a lovely little dog walk round the edge of the adjacent field. The site is close to both the Macmillan Way and the Greenwich Meridian Trail; Frampton Marsh nature reserve is just a few minutes drive (or you can walk there if feeling energetic). The owners were very quick responding to our initial email and so friendly when we met. It’s because of sites like this that we are members of CAMC. We’ll definitely be back and I’d recommend to anyone but especially birdwatchers.

A peaceful site

Slade House
Andy and Donna were very welcoming explaining everything we needed to know about the site and the local area. We booked for three nights and stayed four. The national cycle route 1 passes nearly outside the site gate. We followed the signs to Boston on the Saturday and in the opposite direction to Holbeach on the Sunday, both easy rides on flat quiet roads. We also cycled to Kirton for some shopping and had a good walk along one of the sea dykes. If you like peace and tranquility then this is the site for you.
