Why stay here ...

Welcome to Berberis House CL, run by us, Dave and Irene! Nestled on our lovely seven-acre site, we've created a little wildlife haven with footpaths winding through planted areas that attract all sorts of birds and critters.

When you stay with us, you'll find leaflets packed with local gems – from charming flower nurseries to the market towns of Holbeach & Spalding. Spalding has a water taxi that whisks you across to the Springfield shopping outlet.

Our nearby village, Sutton St James, is just an easy stroll away. You'll find all the essentials there: a convenience store, butcher, cozy cafe, village pub, and even a garage with a filling station.

If you love exploring, we’re in a great spot! The stunning Wash is close by, and you’re only about 40 minutes from Sandringham and the beautiful Norfolk coastline. Just 15 minutes down the road is the National Trust’s Peckover House in Wisbech – where Irene happily guides tours and Dave tends to his bee hives in the gorgeous gardens.

For cycling and walking fans, the flat Fenland landscape with its huge open skies is just perfect. Lots of our guests come back again and again, often taking time out to relax in our peaceful owl box enclosure.

Fishing enthusiasts will be pleased to know there’s coarse fishing nearby, a popular pastime for many.

We’re also commercial beekeepers, so you can buy our delicious honey, sourced locally and from other parts of the country. Plus, we offer home-grown fruit and veggies when they're in season.
