Why stay here ...

Windrush is a pleasant site located at the rear of our property. It is surrounded by farmland in the heart of the Cambridgeshire Fens.  Pets and children are both welcome at the site by arrangement. The site itself is situated on half an acre of land. All pitches are level, laid to lawn and divided by shrubs and trees.  Each pitch has easy access to electrical hook-ups with plenty of space for awnings.

This site makes an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area and there is a small information hut on site which lists upcoming local events. The village shop is approximately 1 mile away selling basic supplies. Wisbech is a charming market town located nearby with beautiful Georgian architecture and a range of supermarkets, shopping facilities and interesting museums. Other attractions in this town include the National Trust property 'Peckover House' and the local Elgoods Brewery and Gardens. The area is ideal for cycling and walking with plenty of village pubs to stop at along the way for a quiet lunch or drink. Coarse fishing is also available within 3 miles.

Further away is the historic town of King's Lynn with Hunstanton and the North Norfolk Coast beyond that.  Sandringham is also within easy reach with its lovely grounds and forest to explore. Peterborough and Ely with their beautiful Cathedrals are also within easy distance and are well worth exploring.

Children and dogs welcome by arrangement

A pleasant relaxing few days

Windrush CL
Follow the directions in the book or the handy map we were sent and it is really easy to find. We received a warm welcome and the site layout explained to us. Electricity is metered, which we think is sensible, although you get 10 units in your pitch fee. We didnt go anywhere near that. Good sized grass pitches, well mown and separated by shrubs which was nice. The site is surrounded by tall hedges and trees so although no views it is well sheltered. Lots of butterflies when we were there. Plenty of boards around to put under your wheels if the weather is a bit wet. You will be visited by chickens and the goose, and the cat! The road is a bit noisy during the day, although it didnt concern us, and it is quiet at night. We caught the bus at the end of the road into Wisbech one day and had a good look round - museum and georgian houses both in the town and along the river. Not all the buses on the bus route return past the site so we got a taxi back. We also visited the nice farm shop and cafe just down the road.

Had 4 great nights at Windrush. First time to this area, we cycled from the site every day on fabulous quiet lanes. The site is well laid out, plenty of room and wonderful plants. Great recycling and loved the compost bin for peelings etc.Very peaceful site and relaxing, the hens appear late afternoon and be aware if you are using a low bbq they are very quick and pinching food!!!!!!good value and fully approve of the electric meters, 10 units a day is very generous, we only used 4 a day and most of that would have been the fridge as it was very warm.

Lovely Site

Windrush CL
We have just returned from having 4 nights at this amazingly well kept CL owned by the really nice & helpful Linda & Keith. The site is situated at the rear of their house and the pitches are all seperated by bushes and are completely level on well kept grass lawn .. The pictures of the site do not do it justice as the trees have grown more, making it even more special and private. Amazingly we were the only Caravan on site but we soon made friends with the cat, 5 chickens and a Goose who regularly visited us. Only a 2 mile walk into Wisbech or access by bus from the nearby village. Great value site and highly recommended, we will be returning in the future!!

A quiet, attractive and well cared for site with friendly and helpful owners. Bus stop a few yards round the corner into Wisbech if needed.

Platinum Stay

Windrush CL
Just had a 4 night stay at Windrush. Communication with Linda regarding the booking was great. We were met at the gate and welcomed by Keith. Beautiful little site. Well manicured and level grass, bordered between each pitch with bushes and young apple trees. Lovely peaceful stay. Managed a few off lead walks with our dogs on the local lanes. Visited The Potting Shed for drinks and also The Rising Sun in Leverington. Would need transport though to explore more of the area. Definite little gem of a site.
