Lincolnshire Wolds Railway
Experience the thrill of the bygone era of steam situated in a beautiful part of the Lincolnshire countryside.
View and BookThis CL is on a quiet, country lane leading to the coast. The site is set on a farm within the rural Lincolnshire countryside and is within walking distance of the village of North Somercotes which boasts two pubs, two convenience stores and a number of food establishments.
The site itself is located on a well-drained, flat grass field which is regularly attended. Each pitch has an electrical hook-up, and a shared water supply between 2 pitches. Guests also have access to a facilities room which includes shower, toilet, laundry and local information. The site is approximately one acre, open aspect and has plenty of space for equipment and awnings, as well as children and pets if you have them!
The site is private, away from the road and is enclosed by both fences and privet hedging, with large established trees at either end of the site.
The farm is also host to four holiday cottages and courtyard B&B rooms. The owners live on the farm site and so are readily available to answer any queries.
The site is a great base for exploring the surrounding area. Donna Nook, with its sandy beaches and nature reserve is just at the end of the road or enjoy some of the many walks the village and surrounding area have to offer.
With RAF Donna Nook based next to the nature reserve, aviation enthusiasts may be lucky enough to catch sight of planes practicing over the range.
A little further afield are the towns of Louth (historic capital of the Lincolnshire Wolds and award-winning market town) and Horncastle (thriving market town famed for antique-selling). We are also within driving distance of Mablethorpe (20 minutes), Cleethorpes (25 minutes), Grimsby (25 minutes away), Lincoln (1 hour) and Hull (1 hour), which all offer shopping and attractions.

Easy access to a lovely well mown flat field, large pitches with trees in between each pitch and a hedge all round the site .shared EHU and tap to the pitch. May be wise to take a splitter for the tap. Good reception for TV and mobile phone. Immaculate shower £1 and toilet and plenty of leaflets to browse through. Lovely beaches within easy reach, ideal for children or for those who just want to be near the sea. Close by is the Donna Nook nature reserve/seal sanctuary. You can walk for miles around the salt marshes, no access to the sea there. The Axe and Cleaver in the village serve a lovely meal with pleasant serving staff, not over priced, also a fair sized Co op Occasionally the RAF are flying but it wasn't a problem for us. You should read the T & Cs for this site before booking!!
