Whether it's a Norfolk holiday or simply a few days away, our 5 pitch touring site located on our rural farm in mid Norfolk provides a central location from which to explore all the unspoilt beauty the county has to offer.
Walnut Tree Farm is a small family run site based in a rural location on our small farm on the outskirts of the village of Swanton Morley and town of Dereham. My wife and I (along with our 2 children) manage the site along with our small flock of pedigree Hampshire sheep which graze our fields.
Our site offers a quiet haven from which visitors can explore all that the area has to offer and its unspoilt beauty. The famous Norfolk Broads, miles of golden sand beaches and coastline, historic medieval sites and Thetford forest are just a sample of what a holiday in Norfolk has to offer and can be easily accessed from Walnut Tree Farm.
We offer 5 pitches suitable for both Touring caravans and Motorhomes with views out over the paddocks where our sheep graze. Each pitch is serviced with water, 16amp electricity and free WiFi with access to chemical toilet disposal, general waste and recycling points.
We are open all year round so wheather you are a family looking for seaside attractions during summer, or you are visiting the beautiful coastline for bird watching or seeing the seal pups later in the year then we can provide a well-equipped and quiet base for your stay. With various country pubs and eateries along with an abundance of farm shops close to us you can sample local produce at your convenience.
The Hampshire pitch is a level, hard-standing pitch with an additional grass area for awnings and is positioned with views across our sheep grazing paddocks. The hardstanding area is 9m x 6m to accommodate the largest Tourers/Motorhomes with space enough for car parking on the hardstanding. There is a 9m x 3m grass area within the pitch for awnings and the pitch is separated by a further 3 metres of grass area where service points are located. The Hampshire pitch offers the benefits of 16 amp electric hook up, mains water and grey waste connections at the pitch.
The Texel, Norfolk Horn, Suffolk and Swaledale pitches are on level grass which are positioned with views across our sheep grazing paddocks. The pitch areas are 9m x 9m to accommodate the largest Tourers/Motorhomes with space enough for car parking on the pitch. Each pitch is separated by a 3m grass area where service points are located and the pitch is easily accessed from the hardstanding roadway.
Washing up amenities, mains flushing WC and shower facilities, chemical toilet disposal, general and recycle waste are provided with easy access to the pitches (approx. 20-30 metres) and free WiFi is available at the pitches.
There are fishing lakes within a couple of miles called Swanton Morley Fishing Lakes.
We look forward to welcoming you here at Walnut Tree Farm.
Please note: This site does not offer electric car charging, the nearest charging point is in Dereham.

When we had read the previous reviews we hoped they were true - they were! Prior to arrival we received very comprehensive information via email from John giving all that you would need to know. When we arrived Rachel and John were not available but as we had received detailed arrival info we were able to get ourselves pitched, then spoke to John who was happy for us to continue. Rachel came shortly after to confirm we were all OK.
This is a site not to be missed, showers and toilets are spotlessly clean, the washing up facilities are also clean, there is a small shop selling locally produced goods including their own produced lamb products. The layout of the site is very well done and pitches are named after different breeds of sheep and pitches are of a good size with plenty of room between pitches. It is close to Dereham, not too far to go to the beach and National Trust properties and Norwich is also within reach. We could have stayed longer, but they were fully booked - pity (for us)! It is a site that we would have no hesitation to visit again, thank you again to John and Rachel.
