Nice Stay

Sheringwood
Had a nice overnight stay, relatively quiet. Just a suggestion that maybe it would benefit from a small shelter/hut for information, menus from local takeaways etc, maps and local interests/places to visit. I appreciate that that there is a notice board with information but was difficult to read as all misted up with condensation. Would return, stayed on Pitch 2 (not level) but levelled up okay on the blocks.

Great place to stay with lovely scenery

Sheringwood
We spent 5 nights at the site and we were blown away with the cleanliness and the views. Such an easy spot to visit all the nearby town’s. seasides and coastal walks. Like others we did hear dogs barking but it was perhaps a kennels letting the dogs out for a break so no issue as it’s not all day, in fact it’s a peaceful site most of the time with lots of birds and wildlife to watch. My only gripe is the electric after the allowance is expensive, in summer months you wouldn’t need heating on but in March we had it on in the evenings (would have liked it on in the day too but we were trying to limit the use) Overall we loved the site and hope to return in the future

Dissapointing

Sheringwood
A somewhat impersonal booking system, allocated pitch 4, all pitches have a water tap but only 1&2 grey waste. On the pitch indication of awning side would mean a caravan had to park up nose in, we were in a motorhome so not an issue however on pitch 5 no indication of awning side so the caravan was reversed in, ok as it happened as didn't sit out and didn't have an awning. If we did I would not have been happy as looking straight as our door!! 2 unlabelled bins, general waste and recycling but no indication of what can be recycled. Grass area edged with posts so not sure where a car would park!! Grass cut whilst there, posts removed and left lying around, not replaced. Noisy site, intermittent dogs barking from local kennels, and a constant generator running all at a close by business premises, would not recommend if not off site most of the day! Unmade entrance road dotted with pot holes, also access road to a number of properties, this was repaired whilst we were there but involved a noisy day, not sure the repairs will survive a heavy downpour though! The beach is certainly not under a mile away. It is 1.5 miles to walk safely to bus stops and the train station in Sheringham and the beach is further on from there. It took us 2 days to find the best way to walk, encountering one blocked off foot path and a number of unclear paths. The owners also have a privately owned site adjacent to this one, in a mor sunny position although very close to the business with the generator. a couple of times cars from there drove up though the CL rather than going out of their own exit. We will not be returning or recommending

A very neat and clean site with all hard standings and serviced pitches.

Sheringwood
North Norfolk is a beautiful area and this site is well placed to explore all along this coast. All the pitches are very clean gravel hard standings. Each with EHU, tap and grey water drainage. There are good dog walks in the adjoining woods. You can sometimes hear dogs barking in the nearby kennels. Booking is on-line and you get directions to the particular pitch. We like to see the owner at CLs, but we didn't meet this one. The pitches were a little cramped with an awning. Overall summary, clean comfortable and a good area for touring.

Expected peace and quiet

Sheringwood
We expected peace and quiet but dogs from nearby boarding kennels were very loud for long periods throughout the day starting from 7.30am The uneven approach road was a bit precarious. The site is adjacent to this road which was quite busy. Noise from passing traffic was loud, especially lorries going to the construction business which was approx 100 yards away There is a drop down into the Craig Nos site next door and there was a gap in the fence immediately in front of our pitch (which is dangerous) and the water tap support was missing On the plus side there are lovely walks from the site - which was clean and tidy We stayed for 2 nights and did not see or hear from the owners We would not stay here again
